Economic Sovereignty 11-5-24

Economic Sovereignty is tied to National Sovereignty and has been for thousands of years. The basic unit of the Economy is the Family. Individual citizens are responsible for providing their own food, shelter and transportation. If their family members need assistance, families are responsible for giving that assistance. Beyond that, individuals are not responsible for assisting others outside of their families.

Economic Sovereignty is tied to Home Ownership in the US and relies on landing in an occupation that pays well. It is a family condition all US citizens are presumed to work for and secure. Our parents and grandparents understood this and were aided by our education system to ensure that everybody got the message. Prior to the creation of Public Schools, Self-Learning required personal initiative. We saw this in George Washington and Abraham Lincoln who were self-educated.

My Grandfather was born in 1886 and worked on the family farm. At age 11, he took a factory job in St. Louis to earn enough to hire a tutor to prepare him to apply to Medical School. He entered Medical School at age 16 and graduated at the top of his class and was hired as the Medical School’s First Professor of Internal Medicine at age 19. He taught Internal Medicine and completed his Surgical Residency at age 21. He was at the forefront of the advancement of Medical Science until his death in 1961.

The US Public School System taught all most students needed to know to function successfully as adults in 8 years during the 1920s. Most US citizens completed their formal education in Grade 8. Some went on to Colleges and Trade Schools to pursue occupations that required the training. Some went to Colleges to learn Physics, Biology, English Literature and other courses. Some went to Universities to become Physicians, Lawyers, Engineers, Chemists, and Accountants.

In 1938, the US passed its Child Labor Laws, ending the ability of children under age 16 from working In hazardous mining and manufacturing jobs. This was moderated to allow children who were age 14 to work in non-hazardous jobs with parental permission. These laws are still in effect today in 2024. Most Teens work in these non-hazardous jobs from 1938 through the 1979.when the Teen Labor Participation Rate peaked at 57.9%. I reached 34.1% in 2011 and continues to decline.

In the late 1950s, Teens could buy a used car from a relative for $100 to $200. Gasoline was 20 cents/gallon. Teen employment was possible and this gave Teens an edge to learn how to work at an early age.

In the 1957, I bought my moms used 1946 Plymouth for $100 and gas was 20 cents/gallon..  In 1963, I bought a 1956 Chevrolet hard top for $750 and gas was 30 cents/gallon.

In 2024, the average price of a used car in the US is $25,000 and gas is $3/gallon.

My grandkids are finding good used cars on-line priced from $3000 to $7000. They do a complete inspection.

My great grandkids moved to a Rural County to find a good school, but live farther from typical employment opportunities.

Those in my generation had a much better chance to secure Economic Sovereignty than our children are experiencing in 2024.

Economic Sovereignty also applies to Private Sector Companies are currently operating under the oppression created by Unnecessary Federal Regulations..
