UN Land Grab

Israel’s ancient high court, the Sanhedrin, now reborn, has issued a statement warning the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization not to try to interfere with – or change – the history linked to the Temple Mount.

A report by Breaking Israel News says the U.N. agency wants to adopt a resolution at its current meetings in Istanbul that would declare the Temple Mount, site of the ancient Jewish temples, is “sacred to ‘Muslims only.'”

The proposal comes jointly from Palestinian and Jordanian interests and follows an earlier decision by the agency to call the site in Jerusalem in official papers only by the name created by Muslims – Al-Aqsa.

But Breaking Israel News reported the new plan is “far more radical.” It said “UNESCO’s very unholy actions” would deny that there is any Jewish link to the location at all.

That prompted the Sanhedrin, which is known in the New Testament for condemning Jesus, to act.

The court, which was disbanded about A.D. 425 and now has been re-created, released a statement warning that the U.N., through its statements and comments, is fomenting global terror.

“The Jewish right to the Temple Mount was established in the Bible, and should therefore be recognized by Christianity and Islam,” the Sanhedrin said in its statement. “In fact, the Jewish claim to Jerusalem is as essential to those religions as it is to Judaism. The biblical connection between the Jews and Jerusalem led to the building of the First Temple by King Solomon, which strengthened our claim to Jerusalem even more.”

The statement from the court, made up of leading rabbis and scholars continued, “A plethora of archaeological evidence in and around Jerusalem is undeniable proof of Jewish settlement in biblical times. Islam did not exist, in Israel or anywhere else, until the year 636 … more than 500 years after the destruction of the Second Jewish Temple.

“If there are any doubts or counter-claims, the Sanhedrin challenges them to establish an objective committee of archeologists to check these facts. On this matter, the Sanhedrin decries the Palestinians’ efforts to destroy the archaeological evidence on the Temple Mount. … These acts, destroying the sites and artifacts of other religions … are intended to create belief in the false historical narrative the Palestinians are trying to spread among the non-Jews, and even among the Jews” of no historical links between Jews and the site.

The statement was referring to periodic actions by the Islamic Waqf, which manages the Islamic mosque now on the mount, to do “construction” with heavy equipment and machinery in an “area rich with archaeological relics.”

The Jewish leaders wrote that the looming UNESCO vote, based on a “false belief,” would promote the “way for terror attacks and other tragedies.”

Rabbi Hillel Weiss, spokesman for the Nascent Sanhedrin, explained that every aspect of the Temple is connected to the concept of peace, Breaking News Israel reported.
“The Temple was intended to be the place where all the nations came together to to serve God, in peace. By enabling the Muslims to turn the Temple Mount into the antithesis of this idea, UNESCO is doing the opposite of their stated mission of uniting the nations,” he told the agency.

“By allowing the Muslims exclusive access to prayer on the Temple Mount, the world has chosen ‘priests’ of war and terror. The world must allow the Jews, the real lovers of peace, to be the priests representing all the nations on the Temple Mount,” he said.

The U.N. faction specifically calls for a return to the status quo that was there before 1967, which Breaking Israel News said apparently “means completely banning Jews and other non-Muslims from the entire Temple Mount complex.”
Officials explain the Temple Mount holds the Dome of the Rock and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, but the Western Wall “has absolutely no Muslim connection whatsoever.”

However, the U.N. refers to that location as “al-Buraq Plaza,” the news agency said. WND reported in 2015 when Jordan said it wanted its soldiers to “patrol” the area. The move was rejected by Israel immediately.

Jews and Christians are actually barred from the mount during most hours of the day and are never allowed to pray at the site or carry holy objects.

Most Palestinian leaders routinely deny well-documented and historical Jewish ties to the Temple Mount. Speaking to WND in a 2007 interview, Waqf official and chief Palestinian Justice Taysir Tamimi alleged the Jewish Temples are fiction. “About these so-called two Temples, they never existed, certainly not at the Haram Al- Sharif (Temple Mount),” said Tamimi, a top Palestinian cleric.

“Israel started since 1967 making archaeological digs to show Jewish signs to prove the relationship between Judaism and the city, and they found nothing. There is no Jewish connection to Israel before the Jews invaded in the 1880s,” said Tamimi.

He rejected the fact that there have been dozens of digs verified by experts worldwide revealing Jewish artifacts from the First and Second Temples, tunnels under the Temple Mount and more than 100 ritual immersion pools believed to have been used by Jewish priests to cleanse themselves. The cleansing process is detailed in the Torah.

Asked about the Western Wall, Tamimi said the structure was a tying post for Muhammad’s horse and that it is part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, even though the wall predates the mosque by more than 1,000 years.

The Palestinian media also regularly state the Jewish Temples never existed. It actually is considered the holiest site in Judaism. The First Temple, built by King Solomon in the 10th century B.C., was destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 B.C. The Second Temple was built in 515 B.C. after Jerusalem was freed from Babylonian captivity. That temple was destroyed by the Roman Empire in A.D. 70. Each temple stood for several centuries.

According to the Talmud, the world was created from the foundation stone of the Temple Mount. It’s believed to be the biblical Mount Moriah, where Abraham fulfilled God’s test of his willingness to sacrifice his son Isaac.

The Temple Mount has remained a focal point for Jewish services for thousands of years. Prayers for a return to Jerusalem and the rebuilding of the Temple have been uttered by Jews since the Second Temple was destroyed, according to Jewish tradition.

The Al-Aqsa Mosque was constructed in about A.D. 709 to serve as a shrine near another shrine, the Dome of the Rock, which was built by an Islamic caliph. Al-Aqsa was meant to mark what Muslims came to believe was the place at which Muhammad, the founder of Islam, ascended to heaven to receive revelations from Allah.

Jerusalem is not mentioned in the Quran. It is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible 656 times. According to Islamic tradition, Muhammad took a journey in a single night on a horse from “a sacred mosque” – believed to be in Mecca in southern Saudi Arabia – to “the farthest mosque.” From a rock there, according to the tradition, he ascended to heaven. The farthest mosque became associated with Jerusalem about 120 years ago.

Israeli author Shmuel Berkovits’ research shows Islam historically disregarded Jerusalem as being holy. Berkovits points out in his book “How Dreadful Is This Place!” that Muhammad was said to loathe Jerusalem and what it stood for. He wrote that Muhammad made a point of eliminating pagan sites of worship and sanctifying only one place – the Kaaba in Mecca.

As late as the 14th century, Islamic scholar Taqi al-Din Ibn Taymiyya, whose writings influenced the Wahhabi movement in Arabia, ruled that sacred Islamic sites are to be found only in the Arabian Peninsula and that “in Jerusalem, there is not a place one calls sacred, and the same holds true for the tombs of Hebron.”

A guide to the Temple Mount by the Supreme Muslim Council in Jerusalem published in 1925 listed it as Jewish and as the site of Solomon’s Temple. The Temple Institute acquired a copy of the official 1925 “Guide Book to Al-Haram Al-Sharif,” which states on page 4: “Its identity with the site of Solomon’s Temple is beyond dispute. This, too, is the spot, according to universal belief, on which David ‘built there an altar unto the Lord.’”

Shopping, living trends disrupt Atlanta real estate Business, By J. Scott Trubey - The Atlanta Journal-Constitution 6/20/16

NEW ORLEANS — The top trends affecting real estate in the year ahead all seem to center on disruption. Factors such as “experiential” retail, the sharing economy, political instability, shifting demographics and the densification and urbanization of cities are key in both the commercial and residential markets, according to the Counselors of Real Estate’s 2016-2017 Top 10 List of Issues Affecting Real Estate.

The top issue, according to CRE: the changing global economy, instability and slowing growth around the globe. Jim Lee, chairman of CRE and a co-founder of investment firm Kensington Realty Advisors in Chicago, presented at the National Association of Real Estate Editors conference here. CRE is an invitation-only group of top real estate advisers and includes 1,100 members worldwide.

10: The Rise of Experiential Retail
Retailers are adapting to online shopping by trying to turn their centers into live-work-play communities, rethinking the tenant mix to provide unique shopping and entertaining experiences. The ideas is to create “destination” centers where people want to spend time as well as buy stuff.

In metro Atlanta, examples are Avalon in Alpharetta, Ponce City Market, the reinvention of Phipps Plaza and Lenox Square, Buckhead Atlanta and the Battery Atlanta entertainment district under development outside the new Braves stadium in Cobb County.

Visitors enjoy the lawn and fountain in the mixed-use development of Avalon, in Alpharetta.  Stores are becoming more like showrooms and return centers for online shopping, while restaurants and tenants such as luxury bowling alleys can be anchors for developments, Lee said.

Malls also are rethinking the use of their real estate, adding apartments and hotels to bring new energy to their surroundings as more consumers seek out neighborhoods where they can walk to parks, dining and entertainment. Phipps Plaza has plans for both, while Perimeter Mall’s owner is working a deal to sell an out-parcel to a developer for an office tower.

9: The Sharing/Virtual Economy
The American flag flies over the renovated Ponce City Market, in in-town Atlanta. The development is an example of experiential retail.  Ride-sharing services such as Lyft and Uber mean retail centers and apartments might need fewer parking spaces. AirBnB is a serious threat to hotel owners. Crowdfunding, or ways to raise investment dollars from regular people, is changing real estate investing, he said.

8: Energy
Spiking energy costs were a big problem for some tenants and a boon to landlords in energy-driven local economies such as Houston. Now that has flipped with the oil glut. Investors, Lee said, are reassessing their investments in energy boom towns, and the office market in Houston is struggling amid layoffs and corporate restructurings.

7: The Disappearing Middle Class
It’s more than just a problem for real estate, but stagnant wages and the expanding gap between rich and poor affects purchasing power for consumer goods, cars and homes. Meanwhile, the CRE report said, costs for health care and college have risen. In response, many middle market retail chains have struggled. The shift from home ownership to renting is one reflection of that, which does open opportunity for investors in apartment communities. Millennial households also do not have the same relative purchasing power of their predecessors. “The wealth and income gap continues to grow,” Lee said.

6: Housing Affordability and Credit Restraints
Both rentals and home ownership are strained by issues of affordability. Home prices have risen beyond the reach of many buyers, which forces more to rent and pushes up prices for apartments. Lee said “micro apartments” could be one answer, but not everyone will want to live in a tiny unit. Will builders shift from luxury homes to starter homes?
Lee said the high housing cost issue will present both challenges and potential opportunities to be creative with affordable housing.

5: The Political Environment
Instability in politics puts doubt in the minds of investors, Lee said. “The political environment has become acrimonious on all levels, whether that’s global, federal, state or local,” he said. Continued population growth and the challenges of an aging population will pressure the nation’s infrastructure.
In Georgia, the state has won kudos for the partnership between Gov. Nathan Deal and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed. State lawmakers also voted to raise fuel taxes to fund roads and bridges and gave Atlanta residents the opportunity to vote to expand MARTA

4: Densification/Urbanization
Many suburbs are trying to be more urban, pursing walkable developments and live-work-play communities. That’s expected to continue both in cities and the burbs.
Urban areas are winning at the expense of suburbs, Lee said, with vibrant urban centers showing themselves to be more economically viable. In metro Atlanta, Alpharetta, Dunwoody, Sandy Springs and others are getting denser, particularly around mass transit. Like the issue of experiential retail, there’s both a threat and opportunity for traditional retail and office centers.

3: Demographic Shifts
The nation is getting older, millennials are waiting later to get married and have kids and all generations are demanding more in terms of services and amenities. Baby boomers are headed to retirement and millennials have now surpassed boomers in the workforce. Another aspect of both changes in demographics and urbanization: Baby boomers and millennials competing for the same housing. As boomers age, it will put greater strain on governments and real estate professionals to provide infrastructure and services to allow them to age-in-place, the report said. This also opens opportunity in the senior living and elder care industries, and likely in more densely-populated areas.

2: Debt Capital Market Retrenchment
Lending is slowing, Lee said. Regulators are instructing banks to pump the brakes on commercial real estate lending and commercial mortgage-backed securities also are slowing, he said. The competition for debt will intensify.

1: The Changing Global Economy
The top issue, Lee said, is the changing economy and cooling global growth. The U.S. remains a magnet for foreign investment, but trade activity abroad is weakening and Lee said his group is seeing foreign investment softening.

Comments

When the music stops, cities and counties need to make sure they have a chair to land on if they are on the hook for Development Bonds.  Otherwise, taxpayers will pay for developers’ optimism and greed.  We need to return to the time when commercial real estate was totally planned and funded by the private sector investors, to make sure that the development has been planned and timed properly.  If they fail, they should be “on their own”. Government needs to get out of the business of giving subsidies and tax holidays to developers.

The only population increases planned for currently by government include about 1 million refugees on welfare and no jobs.

West Nile Virus reported in Brookhaven

The city of Brookhaven and DeKalb County Board of Health issued an alert today, July 22, that West Nile Virus has been reported in the Ashford Park area of the city.

“A mosquito collection from a DeKalb County Board of Health sampling station in the Ashford Park area has been reported as positive for West Nile Virus,” states a press release.

While West Nile Virus exists throughout metro Atlanta, the positive collection in Ashford Park means there is a greater risk of transmission in this area at this time.

The best way to avoid West Nile Virus is to prevent mosquito bites by applying mosquito repellent, wearing long sleeves and long pants, and use extra care from dusk to dawn, when mosquitoes are most active.

Most people infected by the West Nile Virus have no symptoms or experience mild flu-like symptoms, the virus can potentially can cause serious and sometimes fatal illness, according to a press release.

The DeKalb County Board of Health recommends eliminating containers and other breeding sites which may hold water for five or more days. For example, dumping bird baths, scrubbing them and rinsing them twice a week. Also, gutters should be cleaned to make sure they drain properly.

Boko Haram Defeated

Nigerian Military: ‘We Have Dealt with Boko Haram’

The Nigerian army reportedly claims to have completely eliminated the Boko Haram branch of the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) in its stronghold of northeastern Nigeria. Leaders in the West African country have made similar allegations in the past, notes NAIJ.com.

In September 2015, Nigerian Col. Rabe Abubakar, the director of information at the country’s defense headquarters, asserted that all Boko Haram camps and cells had been decimated, adding that the terrorist was no longer able to hold territory.

Moreover, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari’s claim in December 2015 to have “technically defeated” Boko Haram was shattered when the group continued to operate and pose a threat.

The Sambisa Forest, which covers parts of the northeastern Nigerian states of Borno, Yobe, Gombe, Bauchi, and Kano, has been identified as Boko Haram’s last stronghold in the country.

Col. Sani Usman, a top spokesman for the Nigerian army, has announced the complete eradication of Boko Haram in the entire northeastern part of Nigeria, reports NAIJ.com.
The colonel said:

We have come to the point that we can beat our chest and decisively say we have dealt with Boko Haram. The situation in the northeast has tremendously improved. The military operations or the fight against terrorism and insurgency in the northeast is hinged on three things.

First, defeating the Boko Haram terrorists which have been accomplished and making room to facilitate humanitarian assistance which is also ongoing. Then restoration of law and order for good governance to take place. We no longer have camps of Boko Haram terrorists and we no longer have them conveyed in the territories.

Just about two months ago, the Emir of the Gwoza Local Government Area in the northeastern state of Borno, Alhaji Muhammadu Idrissa Timta, refused to return to areas that had allegedly been cleared of the Boko Haram threat.

Vanguard quotes the emir as saying that “none of his Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, including himself and his immediate family will return to Gwoza until Boko Haram terrorist are completely wiped out.”

The Nigerian news outlet points out: According to him, most communities especially surrounding mountainous villages of Ngoshe, Ashigashiya, Barawa and other border communities with Cameroon Republic are strictly under the control of the [Boko Haram] sect members, lamenting that over “10,000 persons are still trapped in Mandara Mountains” (Bayan Dutse)…

The Emir insisted that the so-called liberation of Gwoza communities hitherto under Boko Haram control by troops was only visible on the pages of newspapers.

Echoing news reports from 2015, Quartz claimed in March of this year that some areas in northeastern Nigeria have been liberated from the menace of the jihadist group.
The news outlet notes:

There has been a reversal of fortunes in the [northeastern] region as the terrorist group has been gradually beaten back and territory formerly under its control retaken by the Nigerian army. In the past few months, there has been relative calm and it has brought with it a gradual restoration of economic activity.

This economic rebound is most evident… in the three major cities in the region: Maiduguri, the northeast’s biggest city—home to some two million people in Borno State; Potiskum, the commercial capital of Yobe State and Mubi, a town on the Cameroonian border that is the commercial hub of Adamawa State.

Boko Haram was the second deadliest terrorist group in 2015, responsible for 491 terrorist attacks that resulted in 5,450, the U.S. State Department reported.

In the report, Boko Haram was treated as a separate terrorist group from ISIS, despite the Nigeria-based group pledging allegiance to Islamic State caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi last year.

The United States has provided military assistance to the African countries combating Boko Haram, namely Cameroon, Niger, Chad, and Nigeria.

Mexico wants a Wall

Mexico wants Wall on their Southern Border

Mexican Paper ENDORSES Border Wall, But Look Where They Want It

Without question, perhaps the most consequential policy proposal responsible for the success thus far in the campaign of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is his call for a wall to secure the border between the United States and Mexico.

Of course, Trump’s border wall proposal has been widely panned, not only by liberal Democrats who prefer an open and unsecured border for political reasons, but also by the government of Mexico as well, which has flatly rebuked the notion that it would help pay for such a wall, which they claimed to view as racist and xenophobic.

Imagine the surprise then when a major newspaper in southern Mexico published an editorial recently demanding the construction of a secure border wall — not along the border between the U.S. and Mexico, but along Mexico’s southern border with the rest of the Central American nations, according to Breitbart.

The piece in El Manana lamented the fact that so many migrants from failing nations like El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras were crossing the border into Mexico on their way to the U.S., noting that not all of them were able to complete that journey, ultimately staying in Mexico where they too often ended up resorting to a life a crime to survive.

The piece went on to argue that the construction of a wall along Mexico’s southern border would be in the best interest of both Mexico and the U.S., as it would significantly curb the flow of illegal migrants through both nations, potentially negating the need for a wall along the U.S.-Mexican border.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, that post was pulled from El Manana’s website only a day after it was first posted on Sunday, with no explanation or notation why, only to be reposted in its original form later in the day, Breitbart reported.

Since there was no explanation, one can only speculate as to the mix of blowback the editorial board received from political and cartel interests, as well as readers, leading them to pull and then re-post the controversial call for a secure border.

Whatever their reasoning, we can’t help but find ourselves in agreement that safe and secure borders are a good thing and controlled legal immigration is better than unchecked illegal immigration. If it takes a wall along a border to reach such objectives, then we are all for it.

Please share this on Facebook and Twitter to help spread the word that a Mexican newspaper agrees with Donald Trump that a border wall is a great idea — only they want to build it on their southern border with Central America.

Germany Protests Against Merkel

Calls for Angela Merkel to step down at huge demonstrations across Germany yesterday
Posted by Ann Corcoran on July 31, 2016

Invasion of Europe news….Thousands took to the streets yesterday, not just in Berlin, but across the country in furious demonstrations against the policies of German Chancellor Angela Merkel that have opened the gates of Europe’s most prosperous country to literally an invasion by the third world.

In Berlin: Police stand between demonstrators demanding Merkel’s resignation and those ‘welcoming’ more Muslims to Germany.

See the news here at the UK Daily Mail (what would we do without this media outlet since US news outlets—including Fox News—will likely be silent on Merkel and the destruction of Germany):

Merkel’s premiership is hanging by a thread today as thousands gathered to call for her resignation while a key political ally dramatically withdrew his support over immigration policy. More than 5,000 protested in Berlin and thousands more throughout Germany over the ‘open-door’ policy that many have blamed for four brutal terrorist attacks that left 13 dead over the last month.

The Chancellor faced a fresh wave of fury after it emerged that two recent terror attacks and a third killing were carried out by men who entered the country as refugees. Click here to continue reading and to see more photos! For our complete ‘Invasion of Europe’ archive click here.

What is happening in Europe is significant for Election 2016 in the US.  Hillary loves Angela! If Angela goes (because of German fury about Muslim migration) it will be a major blow to Clinton’s campaign (she has promised tens of thousands of Syrian Muslims will enter the US if she is elected) as it would send a powerful message to US voters.
