Why Did
This Liberal Admit He’d be Voting for Rand Paul, November
29, 2014
The recent elections showed that
America is much different than it was 6 years ago. And just because a Democrat
is in office, doesn’t mean that all liberals love Obama.
The bloodbath of 2014 proves
sentiment nationwide has moved away from Obama and his legion. And that counts
for Democrats… even liberal ones…
H.A. Goodman is a self-identified
liberal democrat. Writing for the Huffington Post and other similar rags,
he’s expressed his support for more progressive politics over the years.
He admits that the Tea Party would
consider him “Joseph Stalin’s love child.” But he still thinks it would be
better to choose Rand Paul over Hillary Clinton in 2016.
I’ve never voted for a Republican in
my life, but in 2016, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul will be my choice for
president. On issues that affect the long-term survival of this country;
grandiose concerns like perpetual war that could send generations of Americans
fighting and dying in the Middle East, domestic spying that could eventually
lead to a police state, and numerous other topics, Rand Paul has shown that he
bucks both the Republican and Democratic penchant for succumbing to public
opinion, an overreaction to the terror threat, and a gross indifference to an
egregious assault on our rights as citizens.
Yes, I’ll have to concede some of my
beliefs and roll the dice as to whether or not he’ll flip-flop on issues, but
Hillary Clinton and President Obama have changed their views on everything from
gay marriage to marijuana legalization and Iraq, so I’m taking an educated gamble
with Sen. Paul. Hillary Clinton alone has gone back and forth on enough issues
to make the former Secretary of State a human version of Pong, so I’m not too
worried about voting for Paul.
Below are ten reasons this Democrat is voting for Rand Paul
in 2016 and if my liberal membership card is revoked, I’ll live with that; I’m
not an ideologue like Sean Hannity, I’m an American.
Goodman is both practical as well as
pragmatic. He admits that he’s not getting everything he wants with Paul. But
he also admits that if Clinton is anything like Obama, then he’s certainly
going to get the shortest end of the stick.
And Paul is no RINO. He tends to be
more libertarian than anything. And as Goodman notes, neocons hate him.
One thing you won’t get with Paul,
at least if he’s anything like his father, is a constant diet of flip-flopped
messages. Paul sticks to principles. He always has, and he always will. He’s
one of the better candidates going forward into 2016.
Truth is if you like Paul, then
you’ll love his stance on energy. Paul supports less government in energy. That
should be music to your ears. Less government equals less taxes paid. And right
now there’s a way to save on energy costs before the 2016 elections.

Goodman has picked up on the “populist”
backbone of us Constitutional Tea Party folks. We agree with him, but I hope he
is open to closing the most harmful unconstitutional federal departments and
transferring these functions to the states. He will also have to think about
quitting the UN, ending bad trade agreements and paying off the national debt.
