The 114th Congress has voted John Boehner to a third term as
Speaker of the House (216-192), but to win the nod, he had to sustain the
largest defection of support since 1923. See below for the list of the 24 who voted
to sack Boehner, and one who voted "present".
Even though Boehner did win, a message was sent and
embarrassment felt as phone lines were jammed by tens of thousands of angry
Republicans and Tea Party Americans eager to voice their dissatisfaction with
John Boehner and his betrayal to those he took an oath to support.
Less than a month ago, John Boehner mocked the voters who
gave him his historic majority by pushing and endorsing the
"Cromnibus" bill that fully funded both ObamaCare and ObamaAmnesty.
For his actions on Obama's Executive Amnesty (Boehner did
nothing to stop Obama's Executive Order on Amnesty) and his
"Cromnibus" betrayal, Boehner was bloodied and embarrassed. He didn't
make a casual stroll to the podium. He was beaten up by members of his own
party who carried
your message of outrage that hasn't been seen in the party
in 92 years!
No. This is a victory for Republican and Tea Party voters
who got involved; who voiced their anger via phone and fax; and who let it be known
they weren't happy.
If you scheduled faxes, or were one of the tens of thousands
of Americans who made phone calls leading to this vote, we thank you for your
actions, and we hope you will continue fighting for our nation on the key
issues that are important to you. Thank you for standing with Grassfire. Your
