The World According to Thumper

“If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.” – Thumper - Walt Disney’s Bambi 1942.

This is the Democrat’s primary rule for everyone else to follow.  It was the beginning of “political correctness”.

Bambi also had an environmental message about guns and hunting.  People were seen through the eyes of the animals in the forest.  A good piece of propaganda for animal rights.

But now, alligators eat your kids, bears go through your trashcan, coyotes kill your pets and you can’t say anything about it, because of “political correctness”.

Bambi might have lost his mother in the forest fire, but he did have his friends in the forest.  During World War II, the US population knew well that their soldiers might not come home.  This message that we have others in our “family” to be with and to receive solace from.

In 1944, Smokey Bear said: “only you can prevent forest fires”.  But you cannot control lightening and it causes most forest fires.  It was government’s way to prevent a small percentage of forest fires and it became a big deal.  Most of these forest fires occurred on land claimed by the federal government.

The fires continue, because government never takes care of anything that is has responsibility for.  But that never stops them from wanting more to be responsible for.  If those forests were owned by tree farmers, they would find a way to prevent forest fires.  They would remove the brush that makes these fires go out of control. They would harvest trees and thin the forest.  They would separate tree farms with “fire breaks”.  They would deploy fire retardant and develop better methods.
