Expatriate Employment

We’ve always had US citizens living and working in foreign countries including Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson. We’ve had global trade for thousands of years.

Foreign companies hire US citizens to work in the US and in foreign countries.  My dad worked for Volkart Brothers, a European based company. Many foreign owned automobile manufacturers have plants and offices in the US with US workers.

Most large companies have foreign subsidiaries if they have customers in these countries. These can be sales or service offices or manufacturing operations. Many large companies manufacture component parts in multiple locations.

These companies should be able to continue to do this. Governments should not refuse to let companies do these things.

Immigration laws should continue to allow companies to transfer key employees to different locations world-wide.

Immigration laws should not allow companies to hire foreign employees to work in the US if US workers can do the work. This was the Immigration Law that worked well before US Immigration laws were changed and ignored starting in the 1960s.
