article “Highway transit line gets a $100M boost reports that State funds will
go to creating a 16 mile bus lane on GA 400 from I-285 to McFarland Parkway in
Alpharetta. This will create an empty lane with empty buses on GA 400 that will
eventually be converted to toll lanes.
The playbook was written with HOV lanes that didn’t work, but did
convert nicely to toll lanes decades later.
Bus service should not
be provided by government. Greyhound would do a much better job and wouldn’t
require dedicated lanes or tax subsidies. Tax subsidies for public transit is
nuts.

article, “State’s transit expansion set as lure for Amazon” reports that Amazon
may prefer Alpharetta as the location for HQ2 if they come to Atlanta.
But Amazon now needs
to calculate the cost of collecting sales taxes for on-line sales that may
eventually be added by the Georgia legislature.
