Twice-Deported Illegal
Accused of Murdering Iowa Mother, Two Kids, by Conservative Zone, 7/23/19. The
murder of a mother and her children is tragic under any circumstances, but it
is particularly abhorrent when the crime could have been prevented as easily as
this could have been.
The man accused of murdering an Iowa mom and her children was
not only in the country illegally, but had already been deported twice and
returned for round three. Once he entered the country illegally for the third
time, he stands accused of the triple homicide. Better enforcement of
immigration laws could have prevented the killing, and the small family would
still be alive today, enjoying summer vacation.
Marvin Oswaldo Esquivel-Lopez, 31, had been living with the
small family before their deaths, which were discovered last week. Police
discovered that the 29 year old single mother and her two children had been
shot and killed; the killer then fled the scene. The children were just 5 and
11 years old. Police have accused Lopez of the crime. While he was living in
the home, he did not have a romantic relationship with the victim, but she was
allowing him to stay with her small family. He rewarded her kindness by killing
her and her children, according to police.
Esquivo-Lopez, who also goes by several aliases, had been
deported twice in the past to his native Guatemala. He returned to the country
illegally for the third time before allegedly committing the crime.
“Escobar-Orellana, aka, Marvin O. Esquivel-Lopez, was previously
(deported) from the United States in 2010 and again in 2011,” ICE spokesman
Shawn Neudauer said. “He has a prior federal conviction for illegal entry into
the United States in 2010. He is not currently in ICE custody.”
Despite being deported in 2011, he once again illegally entered
the country. His illegal entry after deportation was already a federal offense.
Once across the border, police allege, he killed the three victims in Iowa.
Records indicate previous illegal crossings occurred at the border in Laredo,
Texas, but there is no indication of where the border was breached for his most
recent illegal entry into the United States.
There were several opportunities to prevent the tragic killing
of a mother and children this week. Esquivel-Lopez had been detained and
deported once, but then returned to the country illegally once again. This
federal crime carries a potential prison term of 20 years, if it was enforced.
Instead, the alleged killer was once again deported. He then entered the
country illegally a third time to commit his crimes, according to police.
Had the border been stronger and more secure, he could not have
accessed the country in the first place. If he had been imprisoned for even a
short time after his second illegal entry, a mom and her kids might still be
alive today, according to the Des Moines Register.
Don’t let any Democrat tell you that there isn’t a crisis on the
southern border.
