Some mistakenly think there is no other remedy for the political tyranny we are experiencing except by Constitutional Convention. But it is not necessary for us to dangerously tamper with the Constitution our founders penned by inspiration of prayer and their extensive knowledge of Biblical truth. We have had a remedy since our nation's beginning. It was won by the blood of patriots.
The Constitutionally
valid method is nullification, a peaceful
civil disobedience to bad law.
Thomas Jefferson described nullification as "the
rightful remedy". Simple, but effective. The
concept is not new. For an early example, read Exodus
1:15-21. (A side note: Almost half of the 56
signers of the Declaration of Independence had
seminary degrees.)
No private or public education in
early America was complete without a thorough study of the Bible. Roman
philosopher Marcus Tullius Cicero observed that "No
one was ever great without some portion of divine inspiration," and the greatness of our founding fathers is evidenced in
the fact that the document
they created has endured longer than
any other constitution in history.
So impressive was the young nation's
ability to compete on the world stage, both economically and militarily, the
government of France commissioned author and historian Alexis de Tocqueville to
investigate. He wrote extensively on how amazing and exceptional America was in the 1830s. The unabridged original version
of his epic Democracy in America, tells the story, free of subsequent efforts
to revise history to fit a progressive agenda.
Historian de Tocqueville was
impressed that America's churches were functioning the way they were divinely
intended:
feeding the poor, taking care of orphans, widows and elderly, building
hospitals for the sick, and schools to teach our children. The quote, "America
is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, she will
cease to be great," has
resonated with Americans for decades. The churches in early America once
administered most all social programs, and were much more efficient at it than
our current day government bureaucracies.
If one studies God's original design
for justice in government, found in the books of Exodus and Numbers, it becomes obvious that early America was designed to
thrive under the same type of government God intended for Israel. The Levites
were instructed to teach the people how to live
righteously in society from the grassroots up, not from the top down. They taught
individuals to be "self governed".
But like Israel, eventually America too became corrupted.
Government was instituted of God to
serve its ordained and very limited purpose: to protect the
righteous and punish the wicked.
Thus the source of the enumerated powers of government listed in our
Constitution, and the broad scope of unalienable rights listed in, but not
limited to, the Bill of Rights, was of God, not of men.
The early American church served its
distinct and uniquely ordained purpose. Both the government and the church were
heavily dependent on each other. A study of the early church reveals that it
served as the conscience of the government, and of the people. The church actually held politicians accountable, and
provided social programs through the benevolence of the people, which Scripture
reveals is God's design for His church and
His people in society.
God warned Israel against a King, or
any centralized government. But
Israel insisted that they wanted a King. So
God, never wishing to violate man's free will, allowed a King. It did not
turn out well for Israel. God's perfect design for an earthly government was
lost, and not rediscovered until our founders chose God's way in the
establishment of America's founding principles.
For the last 227 years we have been
blessed with God's perfect form of government, albeit now seriously corrupted.
But the seeds of God's government are still present and salvageable! It's expectation of recovery is the reason we are still
the most blessed and prosperous nation in history. But if we continue to tamper
with His design, we will go the way of Israel, and God's form of government
will once again be lost in the annals of history.
We would do well to listen to
Benjamin Franklin's famous response to a Mrs. Powell, who asked the question,
"Well Doctor, what have we got; a republic or a monarchy?" His
response, "A
republic if you can keep it." Will we?

The debts
and unfunded liabilities assumed by the federal government need to be
repaid. The best way to do this, while
at the same time restoring our Constitution is to have states Nullify bad
federal law, like Obamacare and unnecessary EPA regulations. The federal government will soon be in a
position to tackle the debt problem by closing unconstitutional department,
agencies and programs.
Healthcare,
education and government itself are no longer affordable. In 2017, the federal government should begin
to return industries that should be in the free market to free market control.
Tariffs may be necessary to restore employment to the US. Government subsidies will need to be removed
and taxes reduced. This can be done by
restoring jobs to let welfare costs self-reduce.
We need
to repair our badly damaged US economy by reducing unnecessary regulations at
all levels of government.
This may
require that we reform campaign finance reform to allow only registered voters
to contribute to political campaigns. And then, only to those candidates who
would appear on their ballot.
In the
end, we should be left with a functioning federal government that lives within
the confines of the US Constitution (as written).
