President
Elect Donald Trump’s latest pick to head the E.PA. has liberal heads exploding. Here are five fast facts about Oklahoma’s attorney general, Scott Pruitt,
that explain why:
Pruitt is a “Climate Change Denier”. That means he doesn’t buy into the
anthropological global warming religion hoax
perpetrated by Al Gore and the phony baloney climate cultists (a.k.a.
scientific researchers) who started “Climategate” over at East Anglia.
Earlier
this year Pruitt wrote in National
Review “Scientists continue to
disagree about the degree and extent of global warming and its connection to
the actions of mankind. That debate should be encouraged in classrooms,
public forums, and the halls of Congress. It should not be silenced with
threats of prosecution. Dissent is not a crime.” Such encouragement of
dissent enrages liberals who believe climate deniers should be rounded up and
interned in government-run reeducation camps.
Pruitt has been a huge critic Obama’s climate change
agenda. At least one liberal
environmental think tank in Washington believes Pruitt “could be the
most hostile E.P.A. administrator toward clean air and safe drinking water in
history.”
Pruitt has coordinated legal push back against
Obama’s EPA. Worse than being a critic,
Pruitt has had the audacity to mount legal challenges to Obama’s agenda at the
EPA. He showed an “increasing effort
to delegate environmental regulations away from the federal government and towards the states.” (the nerve!) As
Oklahoma’s attorney general, “Mr. Pruitt created a “federalism unit” in his
office, explicitly designed to fight President Obama’s health
care law and environmental
regulations.” He has participated
in filing antiregulatory lawsuits
against the EPA.
The Fossil Fuel crowd loves Scott Pruitt. “Attorney General
Scott Pruitt has long been a defender of states’ rights and a vocal opponent of
the current administration’s overreaching E.P.A.,” said Laura Sheehan, a spokeswoman for the American Coalition for
Clean Coal Electricity, which works on behalf of the coal industry. “Mr. Pruitt
will be a significant voice of reason when it comes to energy and environmental
regulations.” Senator Bernie Sanders believes Pruitt’s nomination
is dangerous.
“At a time when climate change is the great
environmental threat to the entire planet, it is sad and dangerous that Mr. Trump has nominated
Scott Pruitt to lead the E.P.A. The American people must demand leaders who
are willing to transform our energy system away from fossil fuels. I will
vigorously oppose this nomination.” Sanders,
the failed DNC presidential candidate and independent of Vermont sits on the
committee that must confirm Scott Pruitt’s nomination.
The right man for the job. Trump has threatened to dismantle the E.P.A., saying
“We are going to get rid of it in almost every form.” The New
York Times concludes that Pruitt may just be the
right man to do just that
