City
governments are responsible for roads and storm sewers within their city
boundaries.
County
governments are responsible for the roads and storm sewers of unincorporated
areas within their boundaries. But they are also responsible for waste water
treatment and clean water distribution.
Large
cities and counties typically don’t make infrastructure maintenance a priority.
These are the most expensive structures municipalities are required to manage
and expenses soar when the pipes fail.
Our water
pipes leak and create sink holes that collapse our streets. Cities and counties fail to stick to their
knitting and need to make their infrastructure their top priority.
Consequently, when this ill-maintained infrastructure breaks, it creates damage
that also has to be repaired.
Rural
cities and counties tend to do a better jobs with infrastructure because they
employ their own crews and do a better job working with contractors.
School
Boards for big cities and urbanized counties are rigged to focus on building
schools rather than controlling the curriculum. They squander $billions because
they always manage their funding through bond sales. The curriculum is rife
with political correctness and liberal indoctrination. Schools need to
concentrate on reading, writing and normal math.
