Manufacturing
needs to repopulate rural cities and counties.
In the
period from 1950s to the 1990s, rural cities and counties were blessed with
lots of manufacturing jobs. Companies
chose to locate in these rural counties because land prices and taxes and
living costs were lower and the workforce was very good.
From the
1990s to present, rural areas lost these manufacturing companies. Many closed
and many went overseas.
Companies
that require workforces in the thousands will likely locate in suburbs of
larger cities, but smaller companies will look for rural cities and counties
with the transportation infrastructure and proximity to vendors and customers
the need.
