Historic Transparency 8-17-25

The Deal approved by Putin and Zelenskyy will include “Transparency” as its hallmark. Trump is teaching the World how to resolve differences between countries by ensuring that each country benefits from its Agreements. This has never been done and should be adopted going forward to avoid failure.

The current president of Ukraine is Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He was sworn into office on May 20, 2019. Due to martial law, elections in Ukraine have been suspended. Zelenskyy recently met with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London to discuss further support for Ukraine. He also had a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump and European leaders to coordinate positions ahead of a summit in Alaska. Zelenskyy has also proposed a trilateral meeting with Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.

Both Putin and Zelenskyy want Trump to monitor and manage the process. Trump will keep all stake-holders informed to give “feedback” to ensure a successful Cease Fire and a successful Peace Agreement. The “stake-holders” include Europe and NATO. Trump will determine the value of the feed-back.

History is rife with examples of failed Cease Fires and Peace Agreements. Trump will guide the process to avoid failure and ensure that Putin and Zelenskyy negotiate a deal each can live with. Trump will encourage Putin and Zelenskyy to envision the relationship as “normalized” focusing on cooperation and trade to restore the economies of both Ukraine and Russia. Trump wants both countries to succeed.

Trump applies his common sense understanding of History and like Lincoln, understands that both sides have suffered losses because of the War between Russia and Ukraine. Russia is to blame for starting the war. The lessons are clear, when we look at the Civil War, World War I and World War II. The Confederacy needed to reassimilate into the United States, Germany needed to reassimilate after World War II. The support to recover from the Civil War and World War II was requited to reassimilate populations. Vengeance inhibits reassimilation. Caution is required until reassimilation is achieved.
