Facebook Censors

Facebook Instantly Censors Pics of Muslims Michael Savage Posted… But We’ve Got Them 12/11/15

(Conservative Tribune) – There is an ongoing debate in this country over whether Islam is truly a “religion of peace,” as claimed by the left, or a potential security risk because of the threat of radical Islam, as maintained by the right.

Outspoken conservative author and radio host Michael Savage waded into the debate recently by posting on his Facebook page several pictures showing Muslims protesting in London in 2006, angry over the publishing of cartoons depicting their prophet Muhammed in a Danish newspaper.

However, the post containing the pictures was quickly taken down by Facebook, with a message sent to Savage explaining that the social media site “determined that it violated Facebook community standards,” according to WND.

There was no further explanation as to why the post had been removed, other than a link directing Savage to Facebook’s “Community Standards” page, which list “hate speech” and “violence and graphic content,” as well as nudity, for possible reasons as to why the post was prohibited.

It is worth noting that the only “hate speech” and “violent content” contained in the post was that which was written on the placards and banners held by the Muslim protesters, some of which read “Behead those who insult Islam,” “Freedom go to hell,” “Europe. Take some lessons from 9/11″ and “Be prepared for the real Holocaust.”

The occurrence left Savage wondering exactly what triggered Facebook to remove the post, the violent hate speech exhibited by the angry Muslim protesters in the pictures, or his own “hate speech,” for posting the pictures of the angry protesters and pointing out that Islam is not always a peaceful religion.

Sadly, this has become a question of late, considering that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has publicly expressed his support for Muslims who may feel “persecuted,” not to mention recent comments by Attorney General Loretta Lynch threatening to prosecute anyone espousing anti-Muslim rhetoric.

One thing that is not in question, however, is the fact that the protest in 2006 really did occur, and the angry Muslims really did carry signs threatening violence against those with whom they disagreed.

Even the notoriously liberal-leaning “fact checker” Snopes.com reluctantly confirmed the event and authenticated the photographs.

So did Facebook take down the post because of the violence and hate espoused by the angry Muslim protesters, or did they take it down to protect the ephemeral image of a peaceful Islam that liberals try to project?

Either way, freedom of expression is freedom of expression. Americans have the right to see these pictures and to share them.

Please share this on Facebook and Twitter to help spread these pictures that Facebook apparently doesn’t want anyone to see.
