US Conservatism

To understand Conservatism in the US, you must first read the founding documents including the US Constitution that describes the limited powers of the US Federal Government.

The 10 Commandments are the foundation of US Law and the country was founded to support self-reliance and a free market economy that allows consumers to control prices by using the “law of supply and demand”.

The Founders warned that to keep our Republic, we needed to follow the US Constitution and not succumb to drifting into a corrupt “democracy”, where the role of government could be expanded.

Conservatism was aptly described in “Conscience of a Conservative” by Barry Goldwater, published in 1960. The 123-page book covers such topics as education, labor unions and policies, civil rightsagricultural policyfarm subsidiessocial welfare programs, and income taxation. The book is considered to be a significant statement of politically and economically American conservative ideas which were to gain influence during the following decades.

In his book, Goldwater states explicitly that there are "laws of God" and "truths of God" which inform his concept of 'conservatism' and under which the US should operate.

Those of us who had already read the American Communist Party Goals in the book they published in 1920 knew that Goldwater was right in rejecting the “Progressives’” disregard for the US Constitution and the adoption of Marxist policies. This included the imposition of the “managed economy” under the Federal Reserve and the loss of the free market economy.

US President Ronald Reagan (1981-1989) was a disciple of Goldwater’s direction.  Reagan won the Cold War, cut taxes and introduced the resurgence of the US economy we saw until 2009.

There have always been 2 political parties in the US. The Federalists proposed a national government. The Anti-Federalists preferred strong States rights, but agreed after the adoption of the Bill of Rights.

In 1872, Anti-Federalists Jefferson and Madison created the Republican Party to maintain States rights. In 1930, the Whig Party formed to support the primacy of the Congress and the establishment of colleges.

In 1828, Andrew Jackson’s followers formed the Democrat Party and expanded voting rights to non-property owning white men and the election of Judges.

In 1833, Henry Clay founded the Whig Party that dissolved in 1854.

In 1860, Abe Lincoln, Republican became President and believed that the US needed to end slavery before the Western States were declared, because they were agricultural and would have certainly made the US Congress a majority slave-holding country.

Since 1860, the US has operated with 2 Main Political Parties, Republican and Democrat.

In 1890, Progressives took up the cause of Karl Marx to work on societal reform, unionization, working conditions urbanization, child labor, government-run education and expanding voting to women.

Four Goals of Progressivism. American socialists condemned social and economic inequities, criticized limited government and demanded public ownership of railroads, utilities, and communications. They also campaigned for tax reforms, better housing, factory inspections and recreational facilities for all.  This is today’s Socialist Democrat Party.

After 130 years of Marxist policies, the US President Trump is rolling back the Marxist plan outlined by the “Progressives in 1890 that included adopting all 145 American Communist Party Goals. Trump is taking the US back to become compliant with the US Constitution (as originally written). He is don’t this to restore the US economy and rule of law.

The spread of Marxist Socialism in the US has been incremental and occurred because politicians have ignored the US Constitution.
