US Catholics have been politically split 50-50, despite the Democrat support of abortion and the war on Christianity. But most of the Catholic Democrat voters are Hispanic. The 60% of Catholics who voted for Trump were White. The Hispanic vote was more geared to immigration issues. This is close to the 58% Trump vote by all other Christian denominations.
70.6% of the US population is Christian. Of these, 24.1% are Catholic, 25.4% are Evangelical Protestant and 14.7% are Mainline Protestant. 6.4% are other Christians.
