Global Land Area

Global land area is 197 million square miles.  The poles occupy 10.9 million square miles of ice.  20% of the global land mass has permafrost. 33% of the global land mass is desert. 71% of the earth’s surface is Ocean. 11% of global land is used for agriculture and 60% of that is used for grazing. 20% of our protein comes from fish. Despite these limitations, Earth manages to support a population of 7.6 billion people.
