When I read on Page 185 of the March 2011 Cobb County Comprehensive Plan that the county supports the advancement of sustainable development policies as defined by the United Nations Division of Sustainable Development, I could no longer ignore that the U.N. Agenda 21 (A21) policies were real and thriving in America.

The U.N. policies are detailed in a 300-page document along with the Local Agenda 21 Planning Guide. Sold as protecting the environment, sustainable development policies are more far-reaching than our fields and streams. A21 outlines plans for the control of land use, housing, transportation, food production, consumption patterns, water, energy, education, the role of industry and health care. Sounding familiar? We have been bombarded with these global plans of change. Warm and fuzzy words like “comprehensive planning,” “smart growth,” “public-private partnerships” and “outcome-based education” were chosen by central planners to camouflage a desired alternate outcome.

As adults, we are familiar with marketers using positive labels to encourage us to act in ways not always in our best interest. These words in the A21 plan were carefully chosen to make us feel better about giving up our sovereign rights. Conversely, negative labeling and hate speech are used when citizens disagree.

This is not a Republican or Democratic issue. Elected servants in both parties have worked to implement regionalism and public-private partnerships to fundamentally transform America. Economic models endorsing public-private partnerships violate free market principles by benefiting favored corporations, protecting private gains and leaving taxpayers obligated for losses. It proposes a “Communitarian” model of governance that is diametrically opposed to the American way. In reality, the U.N. policies include plans to re-engineer human society through regional equity schemes to spread the wealth.

Regionalism as a subset of A21 gives appointed regional councils control of vast sums of taxpayer dollars while working unchecked. Once appointed, the taxpayers are unable to remove these councils through elections. It threatens our representative form of government. It violates our one-person, one-vote principle to equal legislative representation.

The goals of protecting our natural resources are worthy. We can embrace the need to conserve the air, water and land as well as educate our children in a positive way. The real issue is the need for deeper research and honest dialogue into the ultimate goals of U.N. Sustainable Development while preserving the American principles of respect for private property rights, free enterprise and representative government. We need to root out who really benefits from the sweeping changes, as it is not the American people. It is no accident citizens across the U.S., including Georgians, are rejecting U.N. Agenda 21 policies.

During the week of November 14, 2012, a story and video was released by Better Georgia of a presentation given to GOP State Senators from Georgia on October 14, 2012.  The Better Georgia story was taken out of context and a distorted sensationalized headline was created for political purposes.  Subsequently, the story was picked up and repeated by other local media and then went viral in the national media.  In all of this, not one print, TV, or Internet outlet bothered to contact me directly for my side of the story.  After personally reaching out to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, I was allowed to write the following op-ed piece.  Not to defend myself, but to bring into the forefront of the discussion, substantive issues with regard to regionalism, public-private partnerships, and representative government. – Field Searcy

Pope Rejects Global Government

Vatican Denounces Its Document Calling for a World Political Authority

A month ago, on October 24, the Vatican issued a curious document calling for the creation of a “supranational global political Authority” and a central world bank to manage and cure the ills of the world’s economies.

The proposal, “Note on the reform of the international financial and monetary systems in the context of global public authority” (henceforth, “The Note”), also calls for a global “Robbin Hood” tax on financial transactions, called a “Tobin tax” after the name of its creator. This idea immediately was picked up by the UK’s Anglican primate Rowan Williams, who wrote an approving op/ed in the Financial Times. At the G20 summit in Cannes, the idea of this tax also popped up in some of the comments of Barack Obama and French president Nicholas Sarkozy, but nothing concrete was done about it.

Given the timing as well as the substance of The Note, which blames the ills of the global economy on the “excesses” of capitalism and reeks of a redux of the revolutionary socialist Liberation Theology that the Catholic Church under Pope John Paul II had explicitly abjured, many around the world saw the Vatican as lending support to the Occupy Wall Street movement.

The Note was not authored by the Pope but by the left-wing Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace (PCJP), headed by 63-year-old native of Ghana, Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson, who had been appointed by Pope Benedict XVI in 2009. Nevertheless, the PCJP is a part of the Roman Curia or the Holy See — the “episcopal jurisdiction” or central government of the Roman Catholic Church — and The Note liberally references and quotes past and present popes. Given all this, one could only conclude that The Note has the pope’s approval.      Not so.

Ten days after the publication of The Note, on November 4 in the Vatican, an emergency summit convened in the Roman Curia’s secretariat of state. The reason for the meeting: to do damage control on The Note that had disturbed many, inside and outside of the Vatican.

The secretary of state, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, 76, complained that he had not known about The Note until the last moment. Nor does the document have his approval. The summit concluded with an issuance of a “binding order” that would be transmitted to all of the offices of the curia: henceforth, nothing in writing would be released unless it had been inspected and authorized by the secretariat of state.

However, Chiesa Expresso’s reporter Sandro Magister rightly points out that:

“Of course, the fact that Bertone and his colleagues had seen that document only after its publication is astonishing in itself.

Already on October 19, in fact, five days ahead of time, the Vatican press office – which reports directly to the secretary of state – had made the announcement of the press conference to present the document, at which the speakers would be Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson, president of the pontifical council for justice and peace, and Bishop Mario Toso, the council’s secretary.

Toso, a Salesian like Bertone and his longtime friend, was chosen for this office by the cardinal secretary of state himself.”

What all this means is I had suspected. The Catholic Church, like every organization, is factionalized. The Note is the work of a liberal faction within the Vatican, whose views, beliefs and prescriptions are not those of the Church’s Secretariat of State.

Given the advanced age of Pope Benedict XVI (he will be 85 years old next April), factional differences and contention as displayed in the disagreement over The Note are not insignificant and promise to shape the future direction of the Church itself.

As a footnote, the Holy See is located in Vatican City, Rome. For the central government of the Catholic Church, the Holy See has a very small staff of 2,750 employees, most of whom work in departments and offices scattered throughout the city of Rome. Only one office — the Secretariat of State — is situated within Vatican City.

For many months now, every day, without fail, our ClustrMap tells us that Fellowship of the Minds (FOTM) is read by someone(s) in the Holy See, Vatican City. Since the Secretariat of State is the only department of the Holy See which is physically located in Vatican City, I can only assume that whoever that checks in with FOTM every day is someone from the Secretariat of State.

Still No Global Warming

Climate Change Draft Undermines U.N.'s Claims

Climate Change: The United Nations' global warming panel is writing up a report from its most recent meeting. Are we doomed? Hardly. From the looks of leaked drafts, it appears the U.N. has at last discovered reality.

As it's done many times before, the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change met in November to assess the threat of man-made global warming. And now it's working on a report intended to scare the masses into believing that humans are burning up their world. We don't doubt that the final version of the IPCC's fifth report due next year will indeed make the usual attempt to frighten everyone. But for now those who trade in global warming alarmism are having to smooth out a troublesome bump in the report's draft.

Skeptic Alec Rawls, who signed on as a reviewer, leaked a passage from the draft that indicates the IPCC is actually admitting that a factor outside man's activities is playing a significant role in our climate."That sentence is an astounding bit of honesty," says Rawls, "a killing admission that completely undercuts the main premise and the main conclusion of the full report, revealing the fundamental dishonesty of the whole."

The contradictory passage Rawls is referring to goes like this:"The forcing from changes in total solar irradiance alone does not seem to account for these observations, implying the existence of an amplifying mechanism such as the hypothesized GCR-cloud link. We focus here on observed relationships between GCR and aerosol and cloud properties."In other words, galactic cosmic rays (GCR) are related to cloud and aerosol formation, which affects temperatures.

This activity has been demonstrated in an experiment by scientists at Aarhus University in Denmark. The Rawls leak is getting a fair amount of attention, particularly from alarmists, who contend it means nothing, and the IPCC, which in essence says, "Hey, it's just a draft and that passage might not appear in the final report anyway."Which is typical for the IPCC, given its habit of removing findings and passages from final reports that cast doubt on its speculation that man is to blame for warming the planet.

While the IPCC works overtime to spin the Rawls leak, another headache has emerged for the group. Figure 1.4 from the draft shows that the models used to predict warming have projected temperatures higher than the observed temperatures we've seen.

The chart also shows that observed temperatures, rather than climbing ever upward, are where they were 15 years ago. Skeptic Anthony Watts calls the chart a bombshell. The media have yawned. Meanwhile, another reviewer is pointing out that the draft is omitting a study that found no change in global water vapor even though the alarmists predicted that it would increase as carbon dioxide emissions climbed.

Yet again, the IPCC shows it's not interested in scientific inquiry but rather politics that serve one group while countering another. Like so much of the U.N., it has nothing useful to offer.

The U.S. government has been spending 1 $trillion a year that we don’t have, to implement Agenda 21 to mitigate “global warming”.  This has been going on since 2009. This is a hoax. Our federal government is corrupt and has corrupted our state and local governments with squander-grants to waste on this hoax. Federal Land Seizure Act

Senate to vote on Thursday 12/20/12

Federal Land Seizure Act Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) -- who is “F” rated by Gun Owners of America -- is pushing a “hunting” bill that authorizes the Obama administration almost unlimited power to seize private lands for “environmental” purposes.

Anti-gun Majority Leader Harry Reid has scheduled Tester’s bill for a vote, and it will probably take place on Thursday.

ACTION: It is imperative that gun owners contact their Senators and ask them to OPPOSE S. 3525. Click here to tell them that the modest conservation gains allowed in the bill are totally offset by giving unelected bureaucrats the authority to steal land from hunters and private property owners.

BACKGROUND

(1) When the “wetlands” provisions of the Clean Water Act were originally enacted, no one could have foreseen that a landowner would go to prison for applying clean dirt to a junkyard adjacent to a sewer, which was determined to be “wetlands.” But environmentalists have been brilliant in taking seemingly innocuous programs and massively expanding them through fraudulent interpretations or tiny loopholes.

(2) S. 3525 has “sweeteners.” It allows archery bows to be transported through national parks under very limited circumstances, although Obama could do this by administrative fiat. It also allows, but does not mandate, Pittman-Robertson funds to be used for target ranges. But none of these small discretionary provisions offset the potential damage this does to the rights of individual landowners.

(3) THE ISSUE OF LOST OPPORTUNITY: If this is the Democrats’ sop to gun owners, it may make it a lot more difficult to secure national concealed carry reciprocity or to stop anti-gun measures and treaties.

THE CENTRAL PROBLEM WITH S. 3525

The central problem with the bill is that it allows seizure of private lands for “aquatic habitats” [Sections 201(8) and 204 (d) (2)]. The definition of this term is limitless and includes seizure of lands in order to “protect” the quality and quantity of water sources” and to “serve as a buffer protecting the aquatic environment.” [Section 201 (2)]

Thus, a factory that “pollutes” can be seized to protect an “aquatic habitat.” The only real limit on seizure in Section 204 is the requirement that the government manage the seized property “in accordance with the purposes of this subtitle.”

WHO ARE THE DECISION MAKERS?

The National Fish Habitat Board consists of 27 members. The initial members (Obama appointees) select the remaining members. Thus while the “commercial fishing industry” supposedly has a representative, you can bet that that fisherman is an Obama-supporter and will support his agenda.

The board then enters into “partnerships” with, inter alia, outside groups. And you can bet that every liberal environmental organization in the country will now be feeding at this pig sty. The outside groups recommend fish habitat programs and plans for seizing private lands.

Bottom line: This will give immense powers to unelected bureaucrats -- a clear violation of the Separation of Powers which our Founders implemented as a way of protecting our rights.

WHAT ABOUT SECTION 211 (e) (2)?

This supposedly requires the consent of landowners prior to having their lands seized. But, note the sneaky loophole: Section 211 (e) (2) applies only to property that is being seized with federal funds and, under Section 204 (e), half the funds need to come from non-federal sources.

So while this section is put forward as a “protection,” it actually doesn’t provide total immunity because the government can take a land owner’s property using non-federal funds -- and there is no protection in the bill against that.

The Republicans Have Failed the Nation
 

Over the next couple of years, Barack Obama wants to raise the national debt to $18.9 trillion or so.

John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, and the congressional Republicans want to raise the national debt to $18.4 trillion or so.

The present leadership of the Republican Party has gone from making the case that government is the problem and the American people are the solution to making the case that Democratic controlled government is the problem and Republican controlled government is the solution.

By giving up on making the case that government is the problem and pivoting to “Democrats are the problem,” the Republican Party has failed the American people. Historically, when parties lost, their leadership went and hid for an appropriate amount of time under a rock after an acceptance of blame and a resignation.

The present Republican leaders in Washington, instead of hiding under a rock, have taken to standing on the rock and demanding conservatives self flagellate. Neither John Boehner nor Mitch McConnell are visionaries. They are survivors. They survive by recognizing the biggest threat to them and trying to befriend it or neutralize it.

Right now, both see conservatives as their biggest threat, not Barack Obama. Why? Because while Barack Obama maintains the White House, John Boehner and Mitch McConnell maintain their positions of power. They exist for power, not for vision. The visions they articulate are routinely backpedaled. Remember the pledge to nowhere the House Republicans concocted in 2010 as a second coming of the Contract With America? Within two months of returning to the majority they’d already ditched their pledge faster than a frat boy fleeing a one night stand. Only conservatives wish to hold them accountable for their breach of trust, thus conservatives are the threat.

The very same Republican leadership who paved the way for the rise of the Democrats in 2006 through moral opaqueness on the role of government in the lives of Americans now seek to shut up and shut out the conservatives who continue to loudly point out that the size and scope of the federal leviathan has grown too unwieldy. More troubling, with the removal of the several of the critics within the party from key committees and a clear message that loud voices of conservatism will not get plumb committee assignments, the incoming freshman class and even the current conservative leaders in the House of Representatives have rolled over.

Let us not kid ourselves. The Republicans intend to strike a last minute deal to cave. They will. They are going blind in the bathroom over the idea of bifurcating tax cuts so Barack Obama can veto the tax cut for high income earners and let the rest slide through. It is, as usual, a too clever by half compromise from the GOP, which has spent more time out negotiating itself to the left than negotiating with the Democrats.

The compromise is no longer the issue. It will happen.

The issue is that the Republican leaders who will be in charge in January are the Republican leaders who were directly complicit in the construction of the fiscal cliff and were directly complicit in getting us already to $16 trillion in national debt. Democrats are not to blame; both parties in Washington are.

Obsequious praise for small government does the Republicans no good when they too are in favor of big government in their actions. And having two leaders as the face of the party who have both been in Washington since 1986 does no good restoring credibility when these multi-decade residents of the swamp wink and smile that they really do think Washington is the problem.

Is it any wonder the American people have come to the conclusion that government isn’t so bad when the party of small government keeps expanding it too? The leaders of the party are the message, not the words. And the message does not resonate because they do not practice what they preach.

Until the Republicans change their message, they will keep losing. Changing the message means changing the men. Will 16 Republicans in the House be brave enough to stand up and say the party needs a new Speaker of the House?

This is not about the compromise. This is not about the fiscal cliff. This is not even about removing Amash, Huelskamp, Schweikert, and Jones. This is about beginning again anew — a process that cannot happen when the faces of the Republican leadership have been in Washington since 1986 expanding government while preaching the need for limiting it.

How hard is it to start a new party ?  Can we register as Conservatives to be able to count our numbers ?  Can we get the States to protect us from the Federal ?  Can we protect ourselves from our government by filing lawsuits ?  All of these things are worth trying. Otherwise, we will never extract ourselves from the “one party system” we have endured for the last 100 years.  We don’t need to invent anything new. We just need to push all levels of government to restore the U.S. Constitution and Amendments, as written.  We do need candidates who will fight to reduce the size, scope and expense of our current government.  Reelecting Obama was not a good start to accomplishing this.  We need relentless judicial action to remove him from office.

Florida Plan to Fire Elected Officials, Eventually

Freedom Threatened By Plan To Federalize Local Government In Florida

A new initiative by the federal government called Seven50, a cousin of Agenda 21, seeks to relieve local governments nationwide of direct representation by and for local citizens in matters of education, infrastructure, and population.

Indian River County Commissioner Bob Solari (772- 226-1442) is putting out an urgent call to attend a special Indian River County Commission meeting concerning this topic on Tuesday, December 18 at 9 a.m. in the Vero Beach County Chambers (1801 27th Street, Vero Beach, FL.)  Though Alabama already has passed legislation to curb the Seven50 agenda, seven southeastern counties along Florida’s coastline from Miami to Vero Beach threaten to place their citizens’ lives under control of HUD and other federal agencies by backing this “diversity” proposal.

Morphing the highly unpopular Security and Prosperity Partnership to Agenda 21 and finally into Seven50, our federal government  is hell-bent on removing any local control and input from average American citizens concerning what they can do with their own land, private property, local schools, and local infrastructures from bridges to meeting houses. “What we want to be when we grow up,” says  Marcelor Camblor-Cutsaimanis in a video interview with Nancy Ferre on PBS as she attempts to explain the benefits of Seven50.  Of course, the public TV host heaps praise upon this blatant attempt by the feds to exercise total control over the lives of Americans.

Whether you live near Southern Florida’s east coast or took part in Alabama’s efforts to rein in this dreadful plan, you must inform your neighbors about the dangers of Seven50.  The UN and the Obama administration have been relentless in their efforts to marginalize our freedoms. A puff piece about this fifty year, UN initiative to destroy local and county governance claims Seven50 is “good” for us given the ”…realization that local governments and civic groups can’t effectively tackle [their] problems and needs in isolation.” Well, just ask the still-suffering inhabitants of ocean front towns along the New Jersey and New York coastlines how they feel about the FEMA response to the destruction of their homes and businesses by Hurricane Sandy.

Counties across the nation are being REGIONALIZED to circumvent the structure and policies of local governance . It is an insidious program operating under the radar. Why didn’t the PBS interviewer ask activist Cutsaimanis about the FEMA performance in Staten Island, where residents are being drowned in federal red tape and frustrated by buck-passing and bureaucratic inefficiency ?

If you live near the area, pleased attend the Vero Beach, FL county commission meeting on Dec. 18.  And wherever you live, find out if Seven50 threatens to supplant local governance, turning your town or county into a “protectorate” of the federal government.

Unelected Regional Governance is required by UN Agenda 21.  It replaces our elected government with appointed Commissars.  This is the Soviet Union model of Communist government partnering with crony global companies, local politicians and chambers of commerce.

Agenda 21 implementation is more aggressive in parts of the U.S. where federal land dominates the landscape.  U.S Federal Government Agencies are planning land grabs next to national parks to be part of the “wildlands project”.  Private property is seized by the federal government.  Seven 50 is the sales campaign for seven counties to merge within 50 years.  The endgame is the end of the USA, your rights, your property with the UN as our global communist government. Our new UN masters have already concluded that the global population needs to be reduced from 7 billion to 500 million in order for this to work.  It’s time to quit the UN.  Obama is spending his extra $trillion a year of borrowed and printed money to implement this plan.
