School Security Hardening

The Truth Behind the March for Our Lives Protest ~ American Liberty Report

The March for Our Lives finally took place. It dominated media coverage and conversation across the internet. No matter how hard you tried, you probably weren’t able to escape it. This protest popped up in many small cities across the country. Yet, did you see a big turnout where you live? If you weren’t in one of four cities, the answer is probably no. This is a very loud push for gun control, but is it honest? Are these just a bunch of kids trying to change the world? Or is there something else driving the story?

The Kids
Here’s the narrative portrayed by mainstream media. Kids who survived a horrific tragedy have rallied the nation.

Enough is enough! Basic common sense measures can easily prevent any school shooting from ever happening again, and it’s up to the youth of America to shake the people of this country out of complacence and force the government out of the grip of the NRA. These innocent children just want to survive a school day and adults have failed them. It is only the virtue of youth that could be bold enough to finally stop gun violence.

We don’t even need to unpack how ridiculous the narrative is. We will, however, discuss how skewed the representation has been. The majority of students from Parkland aren’t actively participating in these protests. Think about that for a moment. The desire to disarm America is a minority view even in the epicenter of these news stories.

When a national school walkout was held, only about 10 percent of schools had a single student walk out. Among those schools, none had majority participation.

The march itself had only a few hundred thousand participants—way less than was predicted. It did not break records. Clearly, this is not something the nation wants. It’s not something the youth of America wants. It’s a handful of impressionable kids being exploited by a media blitz.

Behind the Curtain
You might wonder how a handful of students were able to rally hundreds of thousands of Americans (note how big a minority that still is compared to the population) to participate in a nationwide protest. That’s because you’re smart. And, the answer is that they didn’t.

The students’ images were plastered on screens and posters as the face of the protest, but they hardly organized the event. One of the biggest groups doing the logistics work behind the scenes was Everytown for Gun Safety.

You might remember them as the “research” group that lied to America and tried to claim there have been more than 30 school shootings so far this year. When the Washington Post calls you an inciting propagandist, maybe you’ve gone too far.

Working alongside Everytown for Gun Safety were the primary organizers for the Women’s March last year. Both groups are heavily funded by Michael Bloomberg. You might remember him as the former mayor of New York City. Or as the 10th wealthiest person in the world. He’s also a notorious gun control advocate. Bloomberg and his groups also reached out to celebrities including George Clooney, Steven Spielberg and Oprah. If you recall this is the who’s who of the old Clinton gang. This is who was really behind the march, but what do they want?

The Ulterior Motive
You might think that attacking the 2nd Amendment is enough of a cause, but it’s not the real goal. Every politically savvy human being on the planet knows that gun reform is a legislative impossibility with the current U.S. government. The real goals of this march were to raise funds and register voters for the Democratic Party.

Let’s unpack that. Typically voter registration drives aren’t an inherently devious process. Citizens have the right to vote, and the paperwork can feel like a hassle, so taking it out of their hands seems like a good way to grow a party. The issue is that Democrats have consistently used these drives to slip ineligible voters past barriers for decades. It’s simple math. If you flood the registration process, you’ll get more mistakes and sneak more people through. This march, if nothing else, is a smokescreen for the Democrats to continue their illegal practices in an attempt to flip Congress in November.

This was also a fundraiser. The big checks have come pouring in, and the organizers behind the scenes have already made it public knowledge that they’ll be spending that money on lobbying efforts far outside the scope of gun control.

In short, this march was an obvious exploitation of children to push the liberal agenda. It was not supported by the vast majority of the country, but mainstream media will still tell you it was the most wonderful and important event of the year.

Comments

Democrats are using the school safety issue to remove the 2nd Amendment. The solution is to harden school facilities against criminal intrusion, just like you lock your house and create a deterrence from criminal intrusion by having your own armed guards or trained armed school staff.

DNC Gun Issue March

California Schools Paid for Politically Motivated Anti-Gun Walkouts

Gun control advocates and enemies of the 2nd Amendment notched their belts last week with the California school walkout protests calling for stricter gun controls. But now, the districts that encouraged students to leave the classroom to promote their demonstrably uninformed political views are coming under fire for the possible legal implications of their actions.

One week following the walkouts on March the 14th, school officials are being inundated with complaints from parents who are unhappy to see their children used as political tools in a push for legislation they do not necessarily support. The parents are calling foul, saying that students were baited with “get out of class free” cards.

“These kids are being told, ‘hold this sign and stand in front of these cameras, and you can get out of history class,'” one parent complained to reporters.

In addition to the apparent conflict of interest involved in the walkouts, there have also been many reports of criminal mischief being committed by these same students. To make matters worse, many school districts along the west coast have announced that they plan to do the same thing next month.

The teachers and school administrators who are planning and promoting these walkouts do not seem to see the conflict of interest problems involved. They have the responsibility of providing scholastic instruction to the children of the parents who trust them to do so. This is especially true of public schools.

Public schools are essentially government agencies. That means, we have a government agency that is advocating for alterations to the fundamental laws of our country while using pre-voting age citizens as emotional leverage.

Suppose the IRS did something similar. Imagine that the children of certain low-level IRS employees had contracted illnesses related to the relatively low incomes of their parents. Then, suppose the IRS began walking these students out on marches calling for higher taxes which would be used to pay their employees more.

This is essentially what these California school districts are doing. They are abandoning their mission of educating students for the purpose of using resources paid for by taxpayers to influence the laws that affect the lives of those same taxpayers.

If any other government agency did the same thing, it would be a national scandal.

The Chairman of the Chicago Republican Party, Chris Cleveland, says he is concerned that these protests will encourage left-wing advocates to use other public resources to push their agendas.

There is a strong general feeling that the schools belong to the communities that contain them. The truth is they belong to the taxpayer, and they have a duty to impart an unbiased education. This is a far and away different thing to using the children themselves as political pawns.

It’s instructive to consider the experience of some conservative-leaning students. There have been a number of reports concerning students who wished to support the 2nd Amendment during these same marches.

Students supporting the right of Americans to possess the necessary tools of self-defense in the modern age have been escorted away from the protest areas. They have had detentions applied to them for skipping class, where the anti-gun-rights student sign-holders have not been punished equally.

The message to students in these cases is clear; ‘March with the signs we make for you, or stay in class.’

Mr. Cleveland said, “If they get away with this, they’ll be free to engage in any kind of political activity in the schools that they wish.”

Cleveland’s group is mounting a lawsuit to prevent left-wing advocates and school districts from hijacking the school system for use as an emotion-based political weapon. They argue that these schools districts have violated state law as well as their own policies by organizing these political demonstrations, and for doing so at the expense of the taxpayer.

The district that Mr. Cleveland’s legal action group is targeting, has yet to release any public statements on the issue, and any direct response is yet pending.
At present, the schools seem determined to punish students who don’t conform to their political views, to which Cleveland responds, “There will always be a few kids who don’t behave,” said Mr. Cleveland. “I’m a lot more concerned about the behavior of the adults.”~ Conservative Zone

Electric Grid Hardening

ATTACK ON SUBSTATION TRIGGERS NEW GRID SECURITY, Industry, government both alarmed over threats, 3/26/18, WND

For years the threat has existed. A terror attack on the U.S. power grid could take down a section, causing a domino effect that could lead to a disaster.

A single EMP attack on the grid could shut down life as America knows it, because without power there would be no banking, resupply of food, fuel, heat or communications, explains a report in Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin.

But ever since a series of .30 caliber rifle shots penetrated a power transformer in Metcalf, California, several years ago – an incident some viewed suspected was a practice run for terrorists since the offenders never were caught – things have begun changing.

There’s actually action being taken to harden America’s grid to protect the nation’s power supply from terrorists.

“The 2013 attack on the Metcalf transformer substation marked a turning point for the U.S. electric power sector. The attack prompted utilities across the country to reevaluate and restructure their physical security programs,” said the report by analyst Paul Parfomak.

“It also set in motion proceedings in Congress and at FERC which resulted in the promulgation of NERC’s CIP-014 mandatory physical security standards in 2015. Based on discussions with FERC and NERC staff about utility compliance, as well as a review of public information about the activities of bulk power asset owners (and the vendors supplying them), there appear to be physical security improvements underway among owners of bulk power critical assets.”

The report continued, “The public record is too anecdotal to assert conclusively that these changes are occurring uniformly and at every relevant utility, but NERC’s summary compliance reports so far have been positive.”
The report said there’s still work to be done.

“Although it is probably accurate to conclude that, based on the objectives of the CIP-014 standards, the U.S. electric grid is more physically secure than it was five years ago, it has not necessarily reached the level of physical security needed based on the sector’s own assessments of risk,” the conclusion said. Refugee Agency Update

Refugee lobby in high dudgeon over Trump refugee numbers slump, by Ann Corcoran, 3/27/18

Their paying client numbers are very low right now and could hit an all-time low if this trend continues.

I started this post simply wanting to let readers know what the normal sequence is in a given year as the feds move toward the next fiscal year, but then I noticed the press release from the Refugee Council USA-–the lobbying arm of the refugee industry.

I wanted to get the jump on them as we approach the 6-month mark in the refugee admission year of FY18 by telling you what the time table for their action will be.  (Fiscal years begin on October 1 and extend to September 30th, so April first marks the 6 month mark.) So, I’ll do that, then tell you about the press release.

Ms. Giovagnoli is now the director of the Refugee Council USA the lobbying arm of the refugee industry and on the left is Eleanor Acer of Human Rights First at an earlier event.
And, I said here yesterday, admission numbers are way below where they would normally be at this time of year (that isn’t to say they won’t rebound in the second half of the year because some of that depends on how much cash Congress put in the recent gigantic omnibus).

Abstract prep
At about this time in a normal year, the subcontractors are busy as beavers in hundreds of US towns and cities putting together their ‘Abstracts’ in secrecy.  That is the plan for your community with how many refugees your local agency desires.

Scoping meeting sham
In a normal year the US State Department holds a scoping meeting in about May to basically see how many refugees the contractors want in the upcoming year and where they might come from.  (The State Dept. did not hold such a meeting last year that we know of, and I’m betting the newbies in there don’t even know about it.)

Ostensibly the scoping meeting is to gauge your views too, but in a number of years where we participated and many of you, my readers, sent in comments, it was pretty clear that the State Department did not want to hear about objections to the program.  If anyone is interested in what we said, there are dozens and dozens of posts filed here about what happened in 2012-2016 with those “scoping meetings.”
(See category drop-down for State Department Testimony.)

It would be nice (and fair!) if the State Department reinstated scoping meetings and made them available to all Americans. Heck, it would be great if they went on the road and held hearings!

Presidential determination for coming year
The Abstract prep and the scoping meetings were (are) lead-ups to August when the President’s people supposedly meet with Congressional committees in the House and Senate to discuss the coming year.  There are supposed to be Congressional hearings (before the submission of the ceiling) at this point, but that never happens.

The President then sends a ‘determination’ letter (and report) to Congress for the new fiscal year which begins October 1.  The President decides what the CEILING will be for the coming fiscal year—how many refugees and from where.  This is a CEILING, A CAP, and is not a goal although the contractors want it to be a goal or target.
told you yesterday about the myriad stories in the media about “plummeting” numbers.

And, also yesterday, the lobbying arm of the refugee industry—Refugee Council USA sent out a press release to whack the Trump Administration and beg for this year’s 45,000.

Right now, for new readers, the CEILING is 45,000, but at the present rate of entry we will get no where near that (thus the press blast yesterday from RCUSA).

Washington, D.C. – Midway through Fiscal Year 2018, the Trump administration has admitted only a quarter of the 45,000 refugees it pledged to take in, making it highly unlikely that the United States will meets its anticipated admissions goal. Instead, the administration appears to be on track to admit roughly 22,000 refugees, far below any admissions number since the modern refugee program began in 1980. Today, Refugee Council USA (RCUSA) gathered experts to discuss the immediate and long-term implications of this failure.

More here. Mary, Eleanor and others participated.
Get ready for the big FY19 push to start at any time
Although they are still in panic-mode and pushing for the 45,000, this is about the time of year the yammering begins for next year’s numbers.  The contractors shoot really high.
Watch them ask for 100,000 or more (to make up for lost time and lost revenue for them).

Last year, because of Trump’s campaign promises they were pushing for a paltry 75,000.  What will it be this year?  We will be watching!

The Refugee Council USA has an Activist Toolkit that you might benefit from seeing. Click here. It might give you some ideas!

I sure hope that none of this is being paid for with our tax dollars! Congress are you paying attention?

And lastly, I got a chuckle seeing this sample letter (from the toolkit) that refugees are encouraged to send to newspapers:

GA Legislature Pay Raises

AJC 3/26/18 (Will Ga lawmakers’ pensions rise) tells us that Georgia Legislators’ salaries are $17,342 plus $173 per day during sessions. These sessions begin in January and end in March.

If there are 40 days in the session, the extra pay is $6,920. The total is $24,262.
These folks have other sources of income and most are lawyers or business owners.

There are 60 Senators and 180 House Reps in the Georgia Legislature and the annual contribution to their pension plan is $600,000 per year. That’s $2500 apiece.

Their pension benefits are based on vesting after 8 years for $36 per month for each year of service or $720 per month for 20 years’ service payable upon retirement. That’s about the same as an $80,000 annuity would pay.

If they would agree to pass a Bill that restricts campaign contributions to only allow registered voters to make campaign contributions and only for candidates on their ballots so that they worked for us for a change, I would double their pay and terminate their pension plan.

MARTA

MARTA expansion fans will just not give up on their goal to expand bus service and run the MARTA rails up 400 to Alpharetta - AJC 3/26/18 (Deal may allow transit expansion).

The last rail expansion estimate was $2.5 billion and the buses are still empty on the north end of DeKalb and Fulton.

The last time MARTA went for more tax subsidies was 2012, when we voted down the TSPLOST with 66% voting No.

MARTA needs to privatize the buses to end tax subsidies and only add rail after the trains are self-funded by ticket revenue.

MARTA was built to connect the shopping malls and now these malls are losing businesses because of online shopping.

The cost per passenger boarding on buses in 2017 was varied roughly from $4 to $6, with the peak in June

The cost per passenger boarding on rail in 2017 remained between $3 in June and $4 in December.

MARTA claims to serve 1.7 million passengers including 500,000 commuters each weekday.

MARTA is a jobs program with about 25,000 employees.

MARTA has an operating budget of $461.6 million and a capital budget of $434.9 million. The MARTA fare is $2.50.

MARTA estimates over 440,000 riders will use their transit services per day in 2017 and projects a passenger revenue of $143.4 million.

Refugee Terror Trials

Another Uzbek refugee on trial on terror charges, by Ann Corcoran 3/26/18

BTW, one of my major complaints with the US Refugee Admissions Program is that we aren’t picking the most needy people to be our refugees, we often use the program for extracurricular foreign policy objectives.

I’m getting sick of these Uzbek refugees who should never have been admitted to the US under questionable circumstances in the first place—both George W. Bush and Obama were doing it!

Uzbekistan is a Muslim country, supposedly moderate, so the refugees we got are apparently the trouble makers the moderate government wanted removed.  Our Presidents said, sure we’ll take care of it for you.

This isn’t going to be a thorough post of Uzbek terrorists because I want to move on this morning, however I see just last month an Uzbek Islamic terrorist pleaded guilty to killing five in a Sweden truck attack.

Ten days ago we reported on Uzbek convicted terrorist Fazliddin Kurbanov who was found guilty of trying to kill a California prison warden (tried to behead him!).***

Trump agreed to take Australia’s rejected refugees, why?  https://refugeeresettlementwatch.wordpress.com/2018/03/05/more-of-australias-rejected-asylum-seekers-leave-for-us/

My Uzbek archive is here.
Someone should write a book! See if you can get the Dept. of State and the CIA to cough up the real story on why we brought so many Uzbek fake ‘refugees’ to the US and distributed them around the country.

Trump is doing it with the “dumb” Australia deal.  Bush did it with Uzbeks and Meskhetians. Before him Clinton did it with Albanians. Obama continued the Uzbek flow, and was doing it with Central Americans among others.

Here is some news on Bahktiyor Jumaev and his alleged former Islamic jihadist roommate Jamshid Muhtorov—refugees who should never have been here!

From Breitbart: (hat tip: Chris)
The trial for a refugee from Uzbekistan charged with providing material support to a terrorist organization by wiring money to the “Islamic Jihad Union” (IJU) began in Denver, Colorado, on Thursday.

Prosecutors claim Bahktiyor Jumaev developed a closeness with fellow Uzbek Jamshid Muhtorov when the pair shared an apartment and that the two men discussed joining the IJU through phone calls and emails by using code words such as “wedding” to describe jihad.

“It’s a crime to send money or property to a terrorist organization,” said prosecutor Gregory Holloway at a courthouse in Denver. “That’s why we’re here.”

In January, Jumaev’s lawyers asked a judge not to allow the prosecution to show jurors a video showing the beheading of FBI agents found on Muhtorov’s computer. “There is no evidence that Mr. Jumaev viewed any or most of the Muhtorov electronic evidence, particularly the most violent ones,” the motion read.

Muhtorov was first arrested before boarding a flight in Chicago back in 2012 and is currently being tried separately. He has already served five years in jail without trial, and a decision last year to release him on bail was eventually reversed by a federal judge.

The men are two of a number Uzbek migrants charged with terrorism-related offenses in the past year. Last August, 22-year-old Uzbek-American Abror Habibo pled guilty to charges of agreeing to fund terrorist activity, after buying another man a plane ticket to Syria in order to join the Islamic State.

Uzbek migrant Sayfullo Saipov also faces charges of terrorist after carrying out a truck attack that killed eight people and injured at least a dozen others in the city’s deadliest attack since 9/11.

Breitbart forgot to mention Fazliddin Kurbanov. The pair in Colorado were sending money supposedly, Kurbanov was actually planning bombings and tried to kill the prison warden. And, don’t you wonder why Jamshid Muhtorov hasn’t gone to trial yet?
