97% of antibiotics used in the US are made in China.

The US needs big pharma to move enough manufacturing back to the US to ensure that we are pharma-independent for critical medications. Trump will use loser Corporate Tax Rates and Import Tariffs to accomplish this.

US Antibiotics is the only US manufacturer of Amoxicillin and Amoxicillin Clavulanate, also known as Amoxil and Augmentin. They've also been producing penicillin-based antibiotics for over 40 years.

Other companies that make antibiotics include: Acurx Pharmaceuticals, Agile Sciences, AiCuris, Akeso Biomedical, Allecra Therapeutics, Apollomics, Ares Genetics, and Arietis Pharma.

In 2022 Antibiotics were the world's 357th most traded product (out of 1,218). In 2022, the top exporters of Antibiotics were China ($4.51B), India ($923M), Italy ($778M), Switzerland ($691M), and Spain ($433M).

Building a new facility or expanding an existing facility to make commercial quantities of medicines requires substantial planning and resources. Building a new facility can cost up to $2 billion and take 5 to 10 years.
