Deferred Resignations 

White House says about 75K federal workers accepted 'deferred resignation' offer. The offer’s deadline closed Wednesday after a federal judge ruled to end a temporary pause to the program ordered last week.

FEMA Job Cuts

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has over 20,000 employees across the United States. FEMA's employees work to prepare the country for disasters, respond to disasters, and help people recover after disasters.  Along with about 1000 rank-and-file workers, FEMA is losing some of the managers most experienced in handling emergency efforts. The Trump administration has called for a complete overhaul of FEMA, which has a slated budget of $65 billion for fiscal year 2025. 2-11-25.

NOAA Job Cuts

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) requested $6.9 billion in discretionary funding for FY 2025. This includes funding for operations, research, facilities, procurement, acquisition, and construction. The funding will support climate science, climate resilience, fisheries, and protected resources. 

The two rounds of departures together represent about 10 percent of NOAA's roughly 13,000 employees.

NOAA has 12,000 staff members. Senator Maria Cantwell, D-Washington, confirmed that about 880 employees were being terminated, which is about 7% of the agency's staff members, according to reports from USA TODAY on 3-1-25

As of Feb 21, 2025, the average annual pay for the Noaa jobs category in the United States is $90,702 a year.

Education Job Cuts

The Education Department announced a drastic reduction in its workforce Tuesday, saying it's set to cut about half of its staff. About 1,300 ... More than 300 employees also took voluntary separation incentives worth up to $25,000 while about 260 accepted a deferred resignation package.

DOJ Job Cuts Pending

Headcount Reductions in US Federal Agencies includes the 75,000 who opted for Deferred Resignation and 30,000 employees fired by their Agencies. This 105,000 may double to 200,000 over the coming weeks. Upgrading Computer Systems and networking shared databases are required to increase accuracy and productivity as automation is adapted.

The Pentagon needs to reduce costs by 30% and improve its business practices to allow the DOD to add the Iron Dome missile defense system and hypersonic missiles.  The DOD is terminating all 55.000 probationary employees.  43 of the 8000 Military who were fired for refusing the covid shot have returned to the Military.
