Hamas Prisoners Deported 10-17-25

Based on the prisoner-hostage exchange in October 2025, Israel deported 154 Palestinian prisoners to Egypt, while others were released to the West Bank and Gaza. According to news reports, Egypt is considered an initial destination, and these prisoners are to be sent to other, as-yet-unspecified countries.

Details on the deportations:

Destination: The deported prisoners were sent to Egypt through the Rafah crossing with Gaza.

Purpose of deportation: The Israeli government demanded that prisoners convicted of "violent offenses" be exiled to third countries rather than being allowed to return to the West Bank or Gaza.

Final destination: Egyptian and Palestinian officials stated that Egypt is not the final destination and that the deportees would be transferred to other third countries.

Impact on prisoners: Human rights groups called the exile a form of collective punishment and noted it could end the prisoners' political futures and separate them from their families.

For context, this exchange was part of a ceasefire deal in which Israel released nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners and detainees in exchange for Hamas releasing the remaining living Israeli hostages captured on October 7, 2023.

Based on an October 2025 prisoner exchange deal, 154 Palestinian prisoners convicted of serious offenses were deported from Israel to Egypt. From Egypt, they were expected to be sent to third countries.

Further details of the 2025 prisoner exchange:

Deportation conditions: Israeli authorities stipulated that Palestinian prisoners convicted of "violent offenses" would be exiled to third countries, rather than being allowed to return to the West Bank or Gaza.

Other released prisoners:

Many of the nearly 2,000 other Palestinian prisoners and detainees who were released went to the West Bank or Gaza and were not deported to a third country.

According to a list published by the Israeli government, some of the deported prisoners were affiliated with Hamas, while others were members of Fatah and other Palestinian groups.

The required return of Deceased Hostages is being stalled. Hamas is executing Gaza Civilians who are not loyal to Hamas. Large groups of Gaza Civilians are returning to their war-torn homes. These Gaza Civilians who are not loyal to Hamas should not return to their war-torn homes.
