Haiti Economy 5-5-25

Haiti's nominal GDP in 2025 is projected to be around $20.05 billion. This is based on data from Trading Economics, which uses global macro models and analysts' expectations. In 2024, Haiti's nominal GDP was estimated to be $17.97 billion.  

The estimated population of Haiti for 2025 is 11,906,095. This represents an increase of approximately 135,000 people compared to the estimated population in 2024. 

Haiti’s Unemployment Rate is 14.62%.

The IMF projects a GDP per capita of $2,434.52 for Haiti in 2025.

Haiti's major exports include apparel (especially knit t-shirts and sweaters), followed by fruit, vegetable oils, and other agricultural products. The United States is the largest export destination, accounting for over 80% of total exports. In 2023, Haiti's total exports reached $1.03 billion.

Port-au-Prince, HaitiAP — Gangs have attacked another town in Haiti’s central region, killing at least four people, including an 11-year-old child, a human rights activist told The Associated Press on Monday.

At least 15 other people were injured by gunfire, and more than a dozen homes were burned in Petite Rivière, said Bertide Horace, spokesperson for the Commission for Dialogue, Reconciliation and Awareness to Save the Artibonite.
