Pope Francis is the 2nd “Liberal” Pope to be elected in recent years. Pope Francis served as Pope from 2013 to 2025. Pope Francis was raised in “Socialist” Argentina during the Perone Presidency. His focus was on the poor of Argentina. The socialist policies of the Perone Administration created the poverty in Argentina.
The first “Liberal” Pope in resent years was Pope John xxiii 1958-1963. His contribution was to recognize all Christians as legitimate. His biggest mistake was to call all Priests and Nuns to become “social workers”. This led to “Liberation Theology” and the duping of Priests and Nuns to support Marxist Revolutions. The worst outcome came when Priests and Nuns began to quit serving to provide Catholic Schools and Catholic Hospitals. This allowed for annual doubling of school and hospital costs in the US since 1970.
The second “Liberal Pope was Pope Francis. His contribution was to live simply in a small apartment without the trappings of Monarchy. His biggest mistake was to endorse every goofy fads adopted by the Socialist Countries in Europe. When he endorsed the Refugee Invasion of 2015 and allowed Catholic Charities to participate and then endorsed the “Climate Change Hoax”, I knew he was returning the Church to 1200AD. He showed no understanding of the dangers of these errors. He showed no knowledge of science or economics. He took a “soft” position on “personal responsibility” and lost the “Culture War”. This further degraded the effectiveness of the Church to encourage “Moral Behavior”.
Pope Francis died on April 21, 2025.

Most Catholics preferred the counsel of Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XXIII, who were viewed as “Conservative Popes”.
