"I'VE BEEN SABOTAGED ..." Conservative
radio Host Michael Savage was abruptly pulled of the air on Monday afternoon
while discussing Hillary Clinton’s health.
Savage was discussing the
possibility of Clinton having Parkinson’s disease when New York radio station
WABV-Radio TV cut his feed and replaced it with the Curtis and Kuby Show. Shortly after, other affiliate
stations pulled the live feed as well and replaced it with previous recordings
of Savage’s radio show, The Savage
Nation.
In an email to Aaron Klein of Breitbart,
Savage explained his side of the story: Pure
sabotage. No advance notice from me or my producers. Then ‘ISDN problems’
during my discussion of the side effects of Levodopa, used for treating
Parkinson’s. Then the two fill-ins trying to sound informed and clever
from WABC who have 40% lower ratings than me, boasting on air during my hours
that they conducted a ‘coup’ by taking Savage off the air.
Trying to make sense of what had
happened, Savage discussed the incident on
his show in real time: “I spent 30 minutes talking about Hillary’s health
problems; I read you every fact about it. I then read you the pharmacology of
Levodopa which is the main drug for Parkinson’s, and right in the middle of
that discussion of Levodopa and its side effects, I was cut off across the
country.”
He also sent out a tweet to his
fans: The Savage Nation is a
nationally syndicated talk show with an audience of over 20 million listeners
on 400 stations across the United States. Savage it is part of the Westwood One
radio network and is ranked as the seventh most listened to talk show host in
the country.
Westwood One told Radio
Ink that it wasn’t their decision to
pull Savage’s show off the network. WABC in New York said it was removed in order
to provide their local audience with live pre-debate coverage.
Questioning Clinton’s health has
gotten journalists in trouble before. A longtime Huffington Post writer
was suddenly terminated in late August after writing two articles
questioning Hillary’s health. The stories were also removed from the website.
TV physician Dr. Drew Pinsky also
lost his job on CNN sister network HLN after expressing concerns about
Clinton’s health. Both networks claim the cancellation was not related to his
comments.
Savage was recently inducted into
the National Radio Hall of Fame in the category of Spoken Word On-Air
Personality. He holds a Ph.D. in nutritional ethno-medicine and has authored
several books.
He is an avid Trump supporter and
one of the first conservative talk show hosts to back the Republican candidate.
