So, the
US Supreme Court voted 5 to 4 to render the opinion that Gay Marriage a
legitimate “Constitutional” right. It is
not mentioned in the US Constitution or Bill of Rights, but under their “case
law” scheme, they ignore the obvious, that this is a matter left to the
States. They also ignore the vote of the
People where Gay Marriage was rejected in most States. Given the obvious
conflicts inherent in this opinion, the Congress should have drafted a Bill to
weigh in again. They didn’t. So, States, counties, cities, courts and
others are treating this Supreme Court opinion as if Gays had been added to the
Civil Rights Act as a protected group.
But the Civil Rights Act hasn’t been amended to provide that. So, now a large group of lawyers and judges
are crafting an objection to the Supreme Court Gay Marriage opinion. Some in Congress are rumored to be looking at
Impeachment for Ginsburg and Sotomayor.
In the
meantime, an Oregon bakery has been ordered to pay a $135,000 fine for refusing
to sell a wedding cake to a Gay Couple. In Canada, you can go to jail for
disparaging Gays. That is where we are headed.
