Historically,
of the 300 to 400 Bills presented each January, 90% of the 100 to 200 Bills Passed
are requested by Georgia municipalities and government entities aimed at
increasing government power over the voters.
The other 10% of the Bills Passed are requested by special interest
groups. The Gold Dome Legislators tend
to pass legislation that the Governor selects for passage. That’s why Cobb voters didn’t get to vote on
the Braves Stadium deal. State law
allows municipalities to ignore the voters and do whatever they want to do.
This
coming session, more “populist” Bills will be introduced by the few
Conservative Senators and Reps we have.
These are the high scoring legislators in the list below. Some of these Bills may actually be allowed
to proceed to the floor for a vote. Not
many Republicans are Conservative, small government, free market oriented,
tight-fisted populists. Most Democrats are socialist leaning, big government,
big tax and spend types.
