LEFT 'FREAKING OUT' AS
'BUBBLE OF DELUSION' BURSTS, Violent attacks
on Trump supporters reported across U.S., by Paul Bremmer, 11/20/16, WND
It’s not easy to be a Donald Trump
supporter in the wake of last week’s monumental election. All across the
country, reports of violent attacks against Trump supporters have been popping
up.
On Wednesday, a teenage Trump
supporter was knocked
to the ground and suffered a head injury after
a confrontation at an anti-Trump protest in Rockville, Maryland. The boy was a
high-school sophomore wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.
In Meriden,
Connecticut, two men allegedly attacked a man
who was waving an American flag and holding a Trump sign. Police said the two
attackers got out of their car and began punching and kicking the man, who was
standing on a traffic island. A nearby police officer intervened to stop the
attack.
A 21-year-old man was attacked
outside a Boston bar last weekend because he
supported Trump. As Cameron Massie, 21, and his friends discussed the election
over drinks, a nearby group kept listening and butting in. Massie said that
when he left the bar, one of the men who had overheard him started yelling at
him, saying he was a racist. Massie said he was then punched in the back of the
head and the face, and his jacket arm was almost torn off. Massie’s friends
eventually got the attackers to leave, but not before Massie suffered a
fractured eye socket, broken nose and busted lip.
David Kupelian, an award-winning
journalist and WND’s managing editor, believes Trump’s election is causing a
mass meltdown of the leftist psyche in America.
“The left’s bubble of delusion –
maintained and fed for the last eight years by a delusional president, Barack
Obama has been burst,” Kupelian declared. “Republicans won the White House,
both houses of Congress, even more governorships and state houses. The far-left
Democratic Party is freaking out, and the violent outbursts we now see are the
predictable responses of angry, frustrated, desperate people.”
Kupelian, author of “The
Snapping of the American Mind: Healing a Nation Broken By a Lawless Government
and Godless Culture,” said it doesn’t help that the
mainstream news media have been portraying Trump as a “genocidal maniac” in the
mold of Hitler or Stalin.
“If Americans actually did elect
Hitler as president, a monster who murdered millions of people, that would be
something to be upset about,” he reasoned. “But we didn’t – we elected a
well-known New York businessman who has spent his adult life accomplishing very
big projects.”
Carl Gallups, a nationally known
Baptist pastor and radio host, noted the irony of the left losing its mind over
Trump’s election. “The hypocrisies of the ‘we hate
Donald Trump and his supporters’ movement are astoundingly transparent,” he
told WND. “The violence is coming from the left. But, wasn’t it the left who
has lectured the rest of us about peace, anti-violence, tolerance and First
Amendment freedom of speech? And weren’t they the ones who demanded of Donald
Trump, all through the election process, that in the end he must graciously
accept the outcome of the election? How soon we forget.”
Gallups had been warning Americans
for a long time that the 2016 presidential election was a very spiritual one,
with “the undeniable forces of darkness and light on grand display in almost
every venue of American life and politics.”
Gallups, whose most recent book is
titled “When
the Lion Roars: Understanding the Implications of Ancient Prophecies for Our
Time,” said voters faced a choice
between life and death, with one candidate promising to further erode national
sovereignty on the altar of globalism while the other candidate promised to
rebuild national sovereignty. In the pastor’s view, Americans chose life, but
the forces of darkness and light remain at war.
“The attacks we are witnessing are
the epitomized demonstrations of the moral and spiritual assault being leveled
upon the very fabric of the constitutional republic of the United States of
America,” Gallups declared. “This is not the way America is supposed to conduct
its elections or its election aftermaths.”
Gallups believes the United States
has been on a moral and spiritual decline since the government took God out of
the public schools, and he thinks that led to the violent anti-Trump attacks we
are now seeing. “We have raised generations of
people in which many view the government as ‘god,’ and feel entitled to
everything their hearts and flesh desire,” the pastor said. “They have been
told that everyone is a winner and that everyone deserves a trophy – for merely
showing up. When the stark reality of life winning and losing rears its
unexpected head, the coddled ones explode into an impudent rage. We are
currently experiencing the fruit our nation has been sowing for generations.”

That fruit ripened for all to see in
the week after Election Day. One man told a local TV station two
men attacked him on a New York City subway car because he was wearing a “Make America Great Again”
hat. Corey Cataldo, 24, of the Bronx said one of the men saw his hat and asked
if he was a Trump supporter. After Cataldo said yes, the man attempted to choke
him. Another man came over and shoved Cataldo up against the window. Cataldo said
no one on the train tried to help him, but he was able to escape the men.
Meanwhile, in an attack
caught on cellphone video, a teenage girl
in California suffered a brutal beat-down allegedly because she supported
Trump. Another girl threw her to the ground, punching and kicking her. The
attack began after the victim, Jade Armenio, responded to a social media thread
that started with a post supporting Trump. The attacker allegedly approached
Armenio during the school day and demanded to know if she hated Mexicans.
Although Armenio said no, the other girl left her with a bloody nose, scratches
and bruises.
A man in Missoula,
Montana, had a similar story. He said
he was at a bar when a group of men sitting at a table asked him if he
supported Trump. He said he did, and when he later left the bar to look for his
friend, the men surrounded him. According to the victim’s account, one of the
men threw an arm around his shoulder while another hit him in the genitals. Then
a powerful hit to the back of his head knocked him out.
When he regained consciousness, he
was bleeding from his head. A group of bystanders found him and took him to the
hospital. However, because he couldn’t prove what happened, he declined to
press charges.
Last week, a Chicago
man got pummeled by a group of
people following a car crash and shouting match during which the victim
admitted he had voted for Trump. A video showed several people brutally beating
the victim, David Wilcox, while onlookers shouted, “You voted Trump!” The onslaught ended when one of the
attackers jumped in Wilcox’s car and drove away – but not before Wilcox, who
had his hand inside the rear window, was dragged along for several blocks.
Communists got in on the action as
well. The Texas Department of Public Safety announced it arrested
six members of a communist group called Red Guards Austin for assaulting Trump supporters during an anti-Trump
protest in the Texas capital city last Sunday.
All of the personal attacks are to
say nothing of the myriad
protests and demonstrations – some
peaceful, some violent – that have shaken cities across America since the
election. Gallups said the protesters are outside the American mainstream. “They think that they have the stage
right now,” the pastor said. “They are mistaken. They are simply throwing a
temper tantrum that the rest of us, the vast majority of America by the way,
have already grown tired of. They don’t have the power in this country – and
barring any unforeseen events, there will soon be a return to a saner, rule of
law, cultural norm.
“Most of America does not agree with
this behavior. The temper-tantrum-tots are in the vast minority; in the bigger
scheme of things, they are a miniscule number. While the rest of us got up the
morning after the election and went back to work and school and paid our bills
and planned for our futures – these renegades stirred up anarchy. And then we
find out that some of them are merely paid operatives – some don’t even know
why they are protesting.”
Kupelian sees all the protests and
violence as a natural outgrowth of the left’s relentless drive for control. “The left, above all else, craves
power,” he said. “And that power is based – to be perfectly honest – on
creating and cultivating an angry, insecure, dependent population to support
the leftist elite. They have succeeded at this for a couple generations now,
especially through our absurdly leftist colleges and universities, where we’re
witnessing almost an entire generation unable to deal with reality – with
trials and tribulations, with loss and disappointment, with people who disagree
or hold ‘offensive’ views. Both liberal and conservative social scientists
have concluded
that colleges today are literally ‘teaching students to think pathologically.'”
That sort of pathological thinking
has been on full display since Trump was elected. Grade school and college
students all across America have staged
walkouts to protest the election
result. At the same time, colleges have canceled classes and
exams, offered counseling to students who feel “traumatized” by the election,
and held “cry-ins” for shocked and frightened students, among other things.
“Current news reports about wailing
college students being consoled by counselors with therapy dogs, Play-Doh and
coloring books to help them cope with the trauma of Hillary Clinton losing to
Donald Trump may seem funny to some,” Kupelian cautioned. “But this represents
countless young people who basically have had their lives ripped off by the
left’s toxic culture of political correctness, intolerance, fear, sexual
anarchy and socialist ideology.”
In “The Snapping of the American
Mind,” Kupelian writes that the left’s “fundamental transformation of America”
is also causing a fundamental transformation of Americans –
in profoundly negative and heretofore undocumented ways.
Kupelian shows how the progressive
left – which today dominates America’s key institutions, from the news and
entertainment media, to education, to government itself – is accomplishing much
more than just enlarging government, redistributing wealth and
de-Christianizing the culture.
As Kupelian writes, “With its wild
celebration of sexual anarchy, its intimidating culture of political
correctness, and its incomprehension of the fundamental sacredness of human
life, the left is also, whether intentionally or not, promoting widespread
dependency, debauchery, family breakdown, crime, corruption, addiction,
despair, and suicide.”
In short, says Kupelian, not only is
the left unhinged from reality and the lessons of history – it is literally
driving tens of millions of Americans completely over the edge. That is what is
occurring across America right now in the wake of last week’s historic
election.
Gallups, for his part, does not
believe a Trump presidency will solve the deeper spiritual crisis undergirding
America. He said it is ultimately up to the church to capture the heart of the
nation.
“It is time now, more than ever, to
make the church great again,” Gallups proposed. “Truly, the only real answer to
our nation’s deepest ills is a change of heart – and that change of heart must
sweep our nation, and it is the church’s responsibility to lead the way. The
only real and lasting heart changer is the Lord Himself. But, if we don’t turn
back to Him, nothing much will change. I fear it will only grow worse.”
