CONGRESS TO PASS
SHORT-TERM SPENDING BILL, 11/21/16, NumbersUSA
It was reported this
week that Congress will not pass a giant omnibus spending bill that would fund
the federal government through the end of next September. Instead, it will pass
a short-term spending bill to fund the government until after Trump is sworn
in.
This likely means that
GOP Leadership will push off any decisions on two problem proposals: 1)
expanding the refugee resettlement program and 2) extending the quadrupling of
the H-2B guest-worker program until next year.
It could also mean an
end to their consideration of criminal justice reform that could have released
thousands of criminal aliens onto the streets.
