Some Democrats want to “move to the middle” and distance themselves from the Left Wing. These are “cradle to grave” Democrats whose parents were Democrats. They are “making nice” for now. It is ironic that the Democrat Mascot is a Jackass. It is more ironic that the Republican Mascot is an Elephant “who never forgets”. Contrite Democrats are embarrassed that their “lock-step” overspending resulted in moving Inflation from 1.4% to 35%. Republicans can also blame Democrats for hanging on to “Amnesty” and not voting to slow the growth in Illegal Immigration to 21,000 over the past 4 years. No matter what they say now, Republicans are likely to remember how they voted. Republicans will move “suspiciously forward.
The Democrat split is tenuous. Some Democrats are admitting that they should end the Left-Wing control of their Agenda. This would leave House and Senate Members with a problem. If they don’t continue to vote as a block, they will loose the power of their considerable numbers in the House ans Senate. It would be wise for Democrats to quietly move to the center on their Bills. We will not know what they intend to do until we see the vote counts from the first few Bills that are voted on after January 20th.If the Left-Wing of the Democrat Party is relegated to the back seat, they will mirror the Republican Conservative Caucus, but will be a much larger group.
I always thought that the Democrat Far-Left group was about 20%. The House and Senate Members who represent the “Cult” would show up voting “No” on the Trump Agenda Bills. Democrats have constituencies to serve that include Campaign Contributors, their own States and Voters and the Deep State Agendas. They will likely claim that their votes reflect the “Will of their Voters”, whether that is true or not. They like to use a “blanket cover” and describe their “Horse Trading” as being Bi-partizan.
Republicans have an opportunity to make inroads with Federal Employees, if they vote to fund better tools and systems to make Government work easier and more accurate. Implementing AI is available, but expensive. Federal Workers are scattered across the US and would benefit from better tools and systems.
The first job of the Congress is to cut spending by at least $2 trillion, while they remove unnecessary barriers to allow Oil and Natural Gas Production to increase. Cutting the cost of Federal Debt Interest will be a sign that Republicans are succeeding.
