Top-Down Management at the Gold Dome

The Transportation Bill, HB 170 passed the House 123 to 46.  Those 46 paid a price.  Their Bills were dropped and won’t be considered in this session.  To reward those who voted Yes for HB 170, their Bills were put forward

Deal and therefore Ralston wanted this to pass.  It’s more of the “vote how we tell you to vote” syndrome in the Georgia legislature.  In saner days, good bills would pass and bad bills would fail, those days are no more.  I was waiting to see what the project list looked like for the $1.5 billion tax increase, but nobody disclosed it to us.  That’s probably why most voter polls rejected HB 170. They believe the project list will come from the failed 2012 T-SPLOST list, or worse.  We also noticed how project costs doubled with that 2012 T-SPLOST list.  Like Obama, Deal won’t face reelection as Governor and both use “top-down” tactics.  It makes taxpayers the real lame ducks.
