Europe’s Problems

Europe’s problems never end. They need to end their political correctness and pull back on their unsustainable socialist policies. They need to regain their national sovereignty from the EU and build their private sector economies.

In the US, our view of Europe is unique. There is some evidence that America was first discovered by Vikings around 1000 AD, but they disappeared. Spanish explorers discovered America in 1492, European monarchs funded its settlement and America was seen as a source of raw materials and goods Europe needed and wanted. America produced enough to sustain itself and still export goods to Europe.

Our settlers were initially from Spain. In the 1600s they were joined by England and France and Holland. From the 1600s to 1900s, Europeans arrived from Germany, Ireland, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and scores of other European countries. We also had immigrants from Asia and slaves from Africa.

In the US, our Founders were primarily English, having been raised in the British colony that occupied coastal states in North America. But the Founders were well aware of British government abuse that started around 1700 and opted for independence. They were assisted by France and Spain in this war, but after winning the War of 1812, the US vowed not to get embroiled in European wars.

We felt some allegiance to Europe, because for most of us, our ancestors came from Europe.  Europe was small enough to allow people of different countries to get to know each other and in coming to America, our ancestors found the same variety of people.  We are comfortable with Europeans. But Europe had always been trouble. From 400 AD when the Roman Empire fell, throughout the Middle Ages, European countries were always fighting with each other.

The US resisted getting pulled into World War I and World War II, but eventually we joined England and France to push back the German advances. At the time, Europe was still a big trading partner for the US, but that is no longer the case. We’ve seen Europe adopt socialism, support the global warming hoax and commit suicidal political correctness and we blame them.
