Teens Need to Work 1-6-25

Teens need cars to work, but used car prices and insurance costs are too high for them to fund their own transportation. Teens need experience in the real world to prepare for adulthood. If GM and Ford will design a 2025 version of the Model T, they will survive. This requires that the new design eliminates the most expensive add-ons. The target price should be under $20,000 and should be designed last for 20 years. It should be a Hybrid. It should be assembled in a highly-automated facility. This will take the pressure off the used car market and should allow all car prices to drift to lower levels. Teens should be able to pay their own car payments and car insurance premiums by working part time and summer jobs.

Students need a significantly better curriculum to prepare them for adulthood.

Public Elementary Schools have failed to teach students to Read, Write and do Math at “grade level”.  Instead, they are taught to become “social activists” and indoctrinated in Liberal values.

Public High School classes are “lame”.  History needs to include Economics, the causes of Wars, the costs and outcomes. Biology needs to include organ functions Vitamin and Mineral requirements, Nutrition and Weight requirements. Chemistry needs to include Organic and Inorganic. Math needs to include balancing your checkbook, researching pay rates by occupation, doing you taxes, reading contracts and instructions and creating a budget. Basic Physics should be a required course. Understanding how Electronics works should be included. Economics should include GDP, National Debt, Debt Service costs and other related data. Civics should cover the US Constitution, Amendments, current government responsibilities and tax obligations. In addition to “driving lessons”, teens need to know about auto maintenance and repair costs. Indoctrination should be eliminated. Parents should demand a better curriculum and should be allowed to approve the curriculum.

Teachers should hold BS degrees in the courses they teach. “Education” should be included as a “minor” that covers multiple instruction techniques, tutorial skills and special needs. Teachers should enroll in summer school to work toward these requirements.

Teacher’s Pension Plans should be replaced by 401K Plans. Teachers should not be allowed to waive their own Social Security participation. Nearly 50% of new teachers leave the profession within their first five years.

School Boards only deal with school construction and they fund these through Bond Sales that double the cost of these schools. They need to stop funding with Bonds and maintain school buildings to last 100 years instead of replacing schools every 20 years. Hiring School Superintendents should require Confirmation by State Legislatures to ensure that Federal Curriculum Laws are followed.

Students are obsessed with their cell phones and retreat to “social media” to avoid the boredom. They are too focused on their own entertainment and live in a world full of distractions.

All Public Schools need to emphasize occupational skills and help students learn the basics. All students need to be able to spell, read, comprehend what they read, write and do math. Phonics and Cursive Writing should be included.

High School Grads should be prepared to identify their skills and interests in order to select probable occupations before they move on to trade schools or colleges.

Colleges need to drop all non-occupational courses and offer occupational courses. Non-occupational courses should not be government sponsored or subsidized.

Colleges need to eliminate foreign student clubs, student protests and anti-American activities. Foreign Students need to assimilate into US culture and become proficient in English.
