Volvo 7-10-25

Volvos are generally known for their longevity and are expected to last around 200,000 miles or 20 years with proper care and maintenance. Many Volvo owners report their vehicles exceeding these milestones with proper upkeep and maintenance.

Who owns Volvo Cars? Volvo Cars is owned by the Chinese conglomerate Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd., commonly known as Geely Holding. Geely is a multinational corporation that owns multiple businesses and brands in the automotive industry, and they took over the Volvo Cars brand in 2010.

Volvo is a Swedish automotive brand. While its headquarters remain in Gothenburg, Sweden, Volvo vehicles are manufactured in several countries, including Sweden, China, and the United States. The company was originally founded in Sweden in 1927.  Here's a more detailed breakdown:

Sweden: Volvo's roots are firmly planted in Sweden. The company was founded in Gothenburg, and many Volvo models continue to be produced there.

Geely Holding Group: a Chinese company, owns Volvo Cars. As a result, Volvo has manufacturing facilities in China to serve the Chinese market.

US: Volvo has a manufacturing plant in South Carolina, producing certain models for the US market.

So, while Volvo is a Swedish brand, its vehicles are manufactured in multiple locations around the globe.

Comments

Volvo market share in Sweden is 18.6%, followed by Volkswagen close behind and gaining ground.

Chrysler is now owned by Fiat in Italy. Volvo is now owned by China. Some US energy pipelines are owned by Canadian Companies. Some Rare Earth mines in Africa are owned by China.

US Auto Companies have manufacturing plants in other countries based on their “market share”. They now sacrifice US manufacturing jobs to reduce supply chains and transport costs. The same transportation cost savings apply when auto parts are manufactured closer to the auto final assembly manufacturing plants.
