Pennington Wins another Governor’s Republican Straw Poll Broun and Westmoreland top Senate and Congress Poll

FAYETTEVILLE, GA - Continuing to build momentum across the state from conservative organizations, tea parties, and Republican groups - David Pennington earned another straw poll victory on Saturday night. Held at the Fayette County Republican Party headquarters, Pennington’s official straw poll victory was from the 3rd District Georgia Republican Committee.

With nearly 200 Republicans voting, Pennington bested current Gov. Nathan Deal and State Superintendent of Education John Barge 60% to 35% to 5%, respectively. Pennington’s 60% of support was the second highest for the state’s top offices.

“Voters across the state continue to recognize that conservative talk with no action will not solve the problems our state faces,” said Pennington. “They continue to recognize that my proven record of cutting taxes, cutting spending, cutting regulations on business, and providing ethical and open leadership is in stark contrast to Nathan’s. They also continue to recognize that if Republicans are to win in November, I need to be on the top of our ticket.”

Full percentage results from the straw poll are as follows:

Deal & Pennington tie in West GA Straw Poll

Newnan, GA — November 16, 2013 —Former Dalton Mayor David Pennington surprised many by garnering 41% of the vote against incumbent Governor Nathan Deal in a straw poll held at a joint Coweta-Fayette Co Republican Party event attended by over 250 Republican activists from all over west Georgia.
Deal has been under fire recently from both the left and right, with Democrat State Senator Jason Carter and Pennington making gains among voters.

While Deal’s 41% showing indicates a lack of enthusiasm for him among the GOP base. Pennington’s favorable showing is still a long way from a Primary victory. Deal has the advantage of a positive record of job growth, a massive campaign war chest, the advantage of incumbency, and the fact that the anti-Deal vote is split between Pennington and State School Superintendent John Barge.
Straw Poll results:  David Pennington  41%, Nathan Deal 41%  John Barge 11%  Undecided  7% http://zpolitics.com/dealpennington-tie-in-west-ga-straw-poll/

The “establishment republicans" will support Deal for Governor to keep those printed federal dollars pouring in for mal-investments by our soviet regional commissars. The rest of us will support David Pennington (Constitutional Conservative).

The “establishment republicans" are split between Handle (Atlanta Metro) and Kingston (Savannah) or anybody but Paul Broun and Derrick Grayson (Constitutional Conservatives.  The split is not based on issues, but is determined by friendship and geography and is isolated to certain county GOP organizations, whatever is left of them.
There is no question that Atlanta Metro votes could wag the dog, It’s where the bulk of the population is. But it’s no hot-bed of political discourse, so actual voting could be limited to the traditional 25% participation.

Our chances for electing Constitutional Conservatives is directly tied to how angry voters are about being ignored, unprotected and unrepresented.  This includes Deal’s failure to stop Obama-care and Common Core and the nationally recognized need for more Constitutional Conservatives in the U.S. Senate.
With the close of the Gold Dome Legislative session, it’s hard to find any bills aimed at protecting us from federal job killing or local abuse. They have been shredded by the “establishment republicans” and their Sponsors duly embarrassed and chastised.  They will fight hard to keep power, so they can pay off their campaign contributors.

In the real world, the folks in Cobb are wondering how they lost the right to vote on a $300 million Bond for a Braves stadium.  T-SPLOST left the rest of us wary of anything else endorsed by the Chamber of Communists and “establishment republicans”.
The bills for this session include about 70% to benefit government and 30% to benefit special interests. To send a message, we voters should react with grass roots action for candidates who aren’t happy with the status quo. Otherwise, we can expect things to get worse.
