Get the Feds out of Education

Capitol Hill Update from heritageaction.com 7/9/15

Last night the House passed their version of No Child Left Behind with 218 "yea" and 213 "nay" votes.

This 2001 Bush era education program was an attempt to raise test scores, close the achievement gap for low-income students, and improve educational outcomes nationwide. However, this experiment has failed to improve America’s education system and should not be renewed.

NCLB has failed to raise scores on a variety of standardized tests and simply proves that dictating teachers ‘teach to the test’ does not lead to greater overall learning.

In the next 48 hours the Senate has a chance to change this. Instead of reauthorizing of No Child Left Behind lawmakers can pass sensible reforms that allow states to spend education dollars how they see fit. -- But we must act now.

Make the urgent call to your Senators today. Tell them to oppose the reauthorization of No Child Left Behind. <http://heritageaction.com/call/senate/30338?utm_medium=email&utm_source=heritageaction&utm_campaign=nclb&utm_content=060915stopnclblogica>

It’s time you demand freedom from Washington’s educational decrees. Thank you for standing up and continuing to fight for our children’s future.

NCLB is No Child Left Behind is proposed for reauthorization in S 1177. A NO vote in the Senate would end the destruction of US K through 12 education. A YES vote in the Senate would end the political careers of the RINOs who supported it.
