Georgia Democrats Split

The AJC article on Jefferson, Jackson ties precarious, 8/16/15 reported that Iowa Democrats voted to update their party themes to inclusiveness, diversity and equality. 

 

That got Georgia Democrats talking about whether they should update their themes.  Some Democrats are rabid about race, gender identity, gay rights, diversity and economic equality they wanted to drop the Jefferson and Jackson name for the annual dinner. 

 

Some Democrats would abandon the Founders and change the faces on US currency to include a woman.  They might like Rosa Parks or Harriet Tubman.  Others would prefer the faces of Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin, Mao Zedong, Caesar Chavez, Nelson Mandela. 

 

Stacey Abrams defended Jefferson Jackson handle for the dinner and mentioned that Republicans have the Lincoln memorial and Democrats have the Jefferson memorial. 

 

In these days of high unemployment, sovereign debt and impending economic doom, it’s good to see what the Democrats are talking about.
