US Employment

Total employment in the US in 2013 was 145 million.  Total Non-farm employment was 133 million, farming employment was 12 million. Total Private employment was 111 million, public employment was 22 million.  US taxes were over $8 trillion or about half the US GDP.
Decades of excessive immigration have left 92 million US citizens without jobs.
The primary engine of the US economy had been manufacturing.  In 2013, manufacturing employment was down to 12 million.  Other contributors to US production include mining, oil and natural gas extraction and logging employing under 1 million.
Construction employed 5 million, Retail employed 14 million, Healthcare employed 14 million, Transportation employed 4 million, Utilities employed 3 million,  Financial services employed 8 million, Business services employed 17 million. Hospitality employed 13 million.
