Congressional Debates Needed

We need to look back to 1872 and determine if the seizure of land from Wyoming was valid and if the establishment of Yellowstone as a National Park and subsequent federal lands needed an Amendment to the federal government’s “enumerated powers” and stated limits to federal land based on what it needed to function. There is a case to be made that the 30% of the US land mass now designated as “federal land” should be returned to the States. These States should sell most of the land to private sector tree farmers and ranchers to end our annual forest fire festival. The States would operate the “parks” and improve the roads around these parks.

We need other debates to examine further overreach by the US Congress in establishing federal departments for everything outside its “enumerated powers” while ignoring the 10th Amendment and failing to file Amendments to establish these departments, agencies and programs as “enumerated powers” to be ratified by the States.

We need a fill debate to examine the Congressional power to “coin money” and the need to have established the Federal Reserve to set monetary policy. We need to know that the money printing after 2008 will not result in debasement and inflation.

We need a debate to examine the establishment of the US Social Security Ponzi scheme and examine why this forced retirement plan did not establish accounts owned by the beneficiaries and based on their contributions. If our Social Security contributions had been made to privately owned investment accounts, we would be funding our retirement ourselves.

We need a debate on how to eliminate giveaways, subsidies and grants from federal tax support to lower federal expenses to half of what they are currently.

We need a debate on how to return healthcare and education to the private sector.
