History of Political Correctness

Political movements and governments have always attempted to control public opinion using all means available to herd the people from one disaster to another. They use whatever emotional manipulation that works at the time.

Alphonse and Gaston - The absurdity of excessive politeness was revealed in 1903 with the introduction of Alphonse and Gaston. Alphonse and Gaston was an American comic strip by Frederick Burr Opper, featuring a bumbling pair of Frenchmen with a penchant for politeness.

The World according to Thumper – In 1942, Disney released “Bambi”, a story about an orphaned deer and his friends. One of these friends was Thumper, who said: ”If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all”. At the time, moms were trying to get their kids to be polite, but it became the genesis for today’s version of political correctness.
