Fair Tax, Flat Tax

Shouldn’t we cut spending first ?  I am suspicious of some Republicans bearing gifts like the Fair Tax and the Flat Tax.  If we take the Senate in 2014, we can stop most of the damage Obama could do in his remaining 2 years and reverse some of it.   Wasting all of 2015 on Fair Tax or Flat Tax initiatives would be an instant replay of Obama and the Democrats wasting all of 2009 on the Obamacare disaster.  Sure, the IRS and the tax code are a mess, but there are other priorities like stopping the job killing laws like Obamacare and regulations like questionable carbon capture based on the global warming hoax.

The first orders of business must include closing the border and cutting legal immigration drastically, defunding all federal grants, Immigrant Welfare, Obamacare, the US Department of Education, Energy, HHS, DHS,HUD, FDA, Interior, Transportation and the EPA.  I believe defunding all UN Agenda 21 implementation in the U.S. , drilling everywhere and lowering corporate taxes are also at the top of the list.

Federal tax revenues run about $3 trillion a year and the extra $1 trillion needs to stop.   This extra $1 trillion can be cut by ending the funding of the most damaging federal agencies and initiatives.

The Flat Tax at 15% would include hefty exemptions.  A family of 4 making $50,000 a year would have exemptions of $50,000.  It would lower corporate taxes to 15%, It would still be an income tax and could be considered if it would replace the entire income tax code.  There would be no deductions.

The Fair Tax is a national sales tax that would require export buyers to pay U.S. sales tax…not good for exports and it would be gammed.  Europe implemented a national sales tax regimen decades ago and it grew into a 25% VAT Tax, on top of a 50% income tax.  Given their track record, it wouldn’t take this crowd long to get us there.

Congress should not authorize either.  Instead, they should work with the IRS to greatly simplify the tax code and remove the most contorted individual income tax provisions along with most of the corporate welfare.  Energy subsidies should be the first to go.

If we can take the Senate and elect Rand Paul President in 2016, we have a chance.  Australia took their country back, why shouldn’t we ?
