Public Schools & Property Values

Part of the equation in determining property values is the quality of the public schools your property would entitle you to use.  Families look for schools and find them in communities who offer a strata of house prices. What these families can afford depends on their family income.

In Dunwoody GA, a North Atlanta municipality, there are subdivision where single family homes range from $300,000 to $600,000. There are homes that cost less and some that cost more, but the majority are in this range. The other factor families use in picking a location is their proximity to work.

In Cherokee County, a North Atlanta exurb, there are subdivisions where single family homes range from $200,000 to $400,000.  It requires an extra half hour commute to Atlanta, but many of these homes are large and well built. The schools are good.
