Russian Hacking is Fake News

Someone in the CIA leaked fake news that Russia hacked the US election to help Trump. The FBI disagrees. We think this is a Democrat initiated hoax, because that’s what Democrats do. Trump said this rumor is “ridiculous”.

The Trump election brings the certainty that the US will be drilling a lot more oil and natural gas for export. Hillary would have stopped the US from drilling oil and gas. The Russian economy is dependent on oil and gas exports to provide revenue used to operate their government.  I would think that if Russia had a preference, it would be Hillary.  She also arranged the uranium deal for Russia.

Some “ridiculous” Republicans like John McCain are demanding an investigation to keep this mess alive. But he would make Russia the target.  I would make the CIA leakers prove their rumor.

Russia’s critics claim that the election by 80% of the voters in Crimea to leave the Ukraine and be annexed by Russia as a Russian takeover of Crimea. Trump respects the vote and so do I.  Russia should not interfere with the sovereignty of Ukraine or the Baltic States and I doubt that they will. 

Russia does need to develop a larger private economy, wider private property rights and a more robust rule of law to attract investment. The Russian government probably needs to get out of the way to encourage private sector development.
