Imposing
term limits on legislators would have little effect. Special Interests would simply recruit more
sycophants to run.
Sycophant is defined as a
person who acts obsequiously toward someone important in order to gain
advantage. Synonyms include: yes-man, toady, lickspittle, flatterer, flunky,
lackey, stooge and suck-up.
It would be
better to limit campaign finance to just voters and ban special interest from
contributing to political campaigns. The “political speech rights” argument
against this is bogus. Special interests could exercise their right to “free
speech” on their own websites.
Term limits
would certainly catch career Democrats and RINOs, but a new bunch of hucksters
and flimflammers would quickly replace them.
