Free Speech

The traditional, pre-internet era free speech venues have included “public spaces” in past years.  But Alinsky-style protests, riots and destruction of property problems have made retaining the venues untenable.  Cities need to turn away all who apply for a permit to hold a parade or protest rally in a public space and tell them to exercise their free speech on social media, not on our streets.

Government offices, shopping malls, public parks, commercial districts and all other venues need to refuse to allow protestors to occupy these places.

Political organizations should hold their meeting in private venues, like hotels, auditoriums, stadiums, conference centers, separate dining rooms in restaurants and meeting rooms made available by the property owners to these groups.

Free Speech should not be used to continue to allow special interest to fund political campaigns. All but voters should be barred from making campaign contributions to candidates. Corporations and special interest groups can exercise their free speech on the same social media protestors use.
