Reforming Congress

House Rep Ben Sasse (R-FL) is leaving Congress to become the Governor of Florida.  But his prescription for reforming Congress is impeccable. He needs to lead in this reform, even as he gets a saddle on the Florida job.

Ben Sasse says the Legislative Branch is gutless and stupid, because they have delegated their job to the agencies and the courts. The Congress needs to return to having debates over issues and take regulation issuance back from the agencies to do this themselves. Members of Congress don’t want to deal with issues, but that’s their job. The Federal government has engineered itself to be unaccountable. Congress has given the establishment of law to the court. The voters have been cut out of the process.

House Rep Jim Jordan (R-OH) wants Congress to do its job. He is running to become the Speaker of the House after Paul Ryan steps down. He is committed to reforming the House to implement the Trump Agenda.

The US Congress is dysfunctional, corrupt and distracted with itself.  House Rep Jim Jordan (R-OH) took Congress to task for not doing its job and nailed it. Congress lacks the focus and the guts to assume accountability for passing necessary laws that are compliant with the US Constitution.

The role of Congress is more than adequately outlined in the US Constitution. But most in Congress ignore the US Constitution (as originally written). Congress has delegated its powers to federal agencies, the Federal Reserve and the courts to determine our laws. Congress has rejected the original US Free Market Economy that was in place in 1789.  The prices of goods and services were controlled by the “law of supply and demand”. There were no subsidies for the private sector and capital was formed from investments by the private sector. Individual citizens were expected to support themselves and families and charitable entities were expected to deal with those who could not support
themselves.
