There are
dozens of varieties of voters who identify themselves as Conservatives.
Constitutional
Originalists believe that we are required to follow the US Constitution as
originally written and follow it to the letter. We expect the Courts to
interpret the US Constitution based on the Founders’ original intent. We
require the use of Amendments ratified by 66% of the States to establish new
law.
We
believe that the 14th Amendment passed in 1857 was intended to
confer US citizenship to former Slaves and the Court erred by interpreting it
to also allow birthright citizenship of children born in the US to non-citizen
illegal and illegal migrants. This should be a Supreme Court case in 2020.
We regard
the establishment of Yellowstone National Park in 1872 as a violation of the
Law that could only be corrected by presenting an Amendment to expand
“enumerated powers” for ratification.
We
believe that the Church & State 1947 Supreme Court opinion would not hold
up if it was subject to the scrutiny of a 66% vote of the States.
We
believe that the Roe v Wade Supreme Court opinion would not hold up if it was
subjected to the scrutiny of a 66% vote of the States.
The
Congress could fix these if it passed a law defining “Life” to include the life
of the fetus It could also define
“Born” and amend the 14th Amendment. Congress could also clarify the
“separation of church and state” problem and define how “religious liberty”
should work.
