A proposed Senate
Resolution has been announced in the current session of the Georgia Legislature. It is SR 736 sponsored by Cecil Staton 18th,
Davie Shafer 48th, Ronnie Chance 16th, Butch Miller 49th,
Judson Hill 32nd and Steve Gooch 51st.
The resolution calls for
a convention of the states to rewrite the U.S. Constitution. This is being called the Article V con
con. Conservative author Mark Levin has
called for a Constitutional Convention as a way to reverse the advance of the
federal government. Many others disagree and say that the con con is a scam
aimed at removing the original U.S. Constitution, Amendments, Bill of Rights,
etc. and rewriting it to suit the Obama agenda.
See Socialists and Soros Fight for Article V Convention posted on this
blog on 1/21/14 and Liberals want a Constitutional Convention posted 1/15/14.
The last thing we need
right now is to give the bad guys a shot at dumping our Constitution.

It's a shame to see such disinformation coming from a Tea Party. A convention of states is a mechanism provided by George Mason as a way for the states to propose an amendment, not to rewrite the Constitution. How long do you think we should wait for Congress to limit its power?
Here's a
response to this allegation.
