Protest planned against ambitious free-trade agreement
(Tea Party) – Opposition is building quickly and quietly opposing Obama’s plan to ram through Congress one of the most ambitious “free-trade agreements” ever negotiated. Opposition to the legislation that could be introduced as soon as January 8 is gaining ground via the Internet.
Negotiated under a veil of secrecy
by the Obama administration, the international trade agreement is regarded by
globalist free traders as the cornerstone of the “New World Order.” As a result
of the legislation Obama would be granted “fast track authority” to ram the
Trans-Pacific Partnership through Congress with virtually no debate and no room
for proposed amendments.
But a fast-growing Internet group
may block that effort. An “Anti-TPP Twitter Storm” began brewing on New Year’s Day with the world
called upon to tweet and post an ANTI-TPP hashtag. That call was made via Facebook
and urged people to post about stopping the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
“The goal of this ‘hashtag storm’ is
to get this hashtag trending on both Twitter and Facebook, so we can inform the
public about the dangers of the Trans Pacific Partnership and agitate people to
ACT to stop the TPP. Join us and help expose the corporate coup known as the
Trans Pacific Partnership,” reported the dedicated Facebook page.
Obama doubling up on his globalist
agendaObama announced a two-ocean globalist free trade agenda in his State of the Union address on February 12:
“To boost American exports, support
American jobs, and level the playing field in the growing markets of Asia, we
intend to complete negotiations on a Trans-Pacific Partnership,” he said. “And
tonight, I am announcing that we will launch talks on a comprehensive
Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership with the European Union –
because trade that is free and fair across the Atlantic supports millions of
good-paying American jobs.”
Recently made public was a decision
by the U.S. Trade Representative within the Executive Office of the President
to expand the ongoing negotiations for a free-trade zone with Pacific Rim
countries—that includes a Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership with
European Union countries.
With these latest developments Obama
and his administration are undeniably setting the stage to double-up on a
globalist agenda. This globalist agenda includes developing massive new
free-trade agreements across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, adding a
Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TAP) known as the Trans-Pacific
Partnership (TPP.)
Obama overreaching his power with
fast-tracking
Obama’s plans, in development for
two years, are ready to be implemented and Democrats are geared up, set to pass
the massive free-trade agreement. Their stealth strategy is to employ a simple
majority vote that would skirt the typical two-thirds Senate vote the US
Constitution requires to ratify a treaty. Their strategy is part of what is known
as “fast-track authority” which requires Congress to review a free-trade
agreement (FTA) under limited debate, in an accelerated timeframe subject to a
yes or no vote by Congress without provision for Congress to modify the
agreement with amendments. This is allowed under a provision under the Trade
Promotion Authority.
Foreign partners receive reassurance
under the fast-track authority that the FTA agreement negotiated by the
executive branch will not be altered by Congress during the legislative process.
However, a report released by the
Congressional Research Service (CRS) makes clear that Obama and his
administration do not have the authority do not have fast-track authority to
negotiate TPP despite the office of the U.S. Trade Representative pretending it
is in place:
The present negotiations are not
being conducted under the auspices of formal trade promotion authority (TPA) –
the latest TPA expired on July 1, 2007 – although the Administration informally
is following the procedures of the former TPA. If TPP implementing legislation
is brought to Congress, TPA may need to be considered if the legislation is not
to be subject to potentially debilitating amendments or rejection. Finally,
Congress may seek to weigh in on the addition of new members to the
negotiations, before or after the negotiations conclude.
According to the CRS report, the TPP
is being negotiated as a regional free-trade agreement. US negotiators hope
that it “will liberalize trade in nearly all goods and services and include
commitments beyond those currently established in the World Trade Organization
(WTO).”
Obama and his administration are
treating the TPP like a TPA, not a formal treaty obligation. This means that
the Obama majority will seek TPP passage by a simple Congressional majority
vote.
Agreements made within the TPP will
be crafted to supersede US law with the regional authorities as specified
within the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement since the impact of the TPP will
be equivalent to a formal treaty obligation.
To make the TTP law the Obama
administration faces one final hurdle: getting Congress to vote fast-track
authority as the terms under which the TPP will be introduced to Congress.
One of the few strategies opponents
have left then is to pressure Congress to vote against giving Obama and his
administration fast-track authority when the issue arises potentially as early
as the coming week.
Sneaky strategies advancing the New
World Order agenda
Globalists advising Obama are using
history to craft cunning strategies to push through the New World Order agenda.
Advisors appear to have learned from the adverse public reaction to the
Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) during the President
George W. Bush era. For that reason Obama has avoided leader summit meetings
that exposed the international “working group” coordination needed to create
international free-trade agreements to critical alternative news media.
Globalists discovered that
international adventures like the NAFTA Super-Highway will succeed if the
initiatives are pursued under-cover, quietly and covertly. Anyone who gets in
the way, attempting to expose the larger purpose of global sovereignty, is
subject to ridicule.
Interestingly, Obama’s dirty deed
doers shut down the Security and Prosperity Partnership website, spp.gov.
then rebranded the SPP as the North American Leaders Summit. The last joint
statement was issued April 2, 2012 at the conclusion of the last tri-lateral
head-of-state meeting between the US, Mexico and Canada.
The Obama administration appears to
have leap-frogged the SPP ambitions to create a North American Union by
including Mexico and Canada in the TPP configuration.
In total there are 10 nations
involved in the TPP: Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Malaysia, Mexico,
New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam.
The following graph appears in the
CRS report and shows the broad reach of the agreement across the Pacific:
A view of the North American map,
shows trade from Canada extending down into Oklahoma while Mexican trade
extends north to Colorado. At the same time, trade from Mexico extends up into
the US across the Pacific to Asian and Pacific Rim nations that are involved in
the FTA.
Leak shows Obama intends to
surrender US sovereignty
A leaked copy of the TPP draft makes
it abundantly clear that the Obama administration fully intends to surrender US
sovereignty to hand over judgment regarding disputes that arise under the TPP
to an international tribunal. (Chapter 15, “Dispute Settlement)
Should a dispute involve
interpretation and application of the TPP agreement, the articles dictate that
it will be adjudicated by an “arbitral tribunal” that consists of three
TPP members whose purpose will be “to make an objective assessment of the
dispute before it, including an examination of the facts of the case and the applicability
of and conformity with this Agreement, and make such other findings and rulings
necessary for the resolution of the dispute referred to it as it thinks fits.”
These arbitral tribunals are not
required to render decisions in compliance with the US law—nor are the
decisions of such a tribunal invalid should they violate or otherwise
contravene US law. The TPP draft agreement does not specify any of these
points.
Investment disputes arising under
the TPP agreement would be set for resolution by the International Center for
Settlement of Investment Disputes. This Center was created by 158 nations that
are signatories to the ICSID Convention that were created under the backing of
the World Bank.
Still another portion of the TPP
draft agreement specifies that foreign firms from Trans-Pacific signatory
countries that are seeking to do business in the United States can apply for
relief under the trade pact to the arbitral tribunals to be relieved from
complying with onerous US laws and regulations, including environmental
regulations and financial disclosures.
Another troublesome consequence of
the TPP agreement would place arbitral tribunals above the US law. This means
that the Obama administration is already set on creating a judicial authority
that is higher than the US Supreme Court. If this agreement were to be passed
it would mean the tribunal could overrule the decisions handed down from our
federal courts to apply US laws and regulations to foreign corporations doing
business within the US.
New World Order is on the agenda.
Should Obama succeed, it would continue to weaken America’s stronghold around
the world, open America up to NWO control and further relinquish US power to
foreign sources.
