"Changing out the occupant of the White House is NOT
going to change anything. But changing 469 seats in Congress to real
Constitutionally minded representatives...well, that could change the
WORLD." As George Washington said, ' the power under the Constitution will
always be in the people'. If only the people knew their power.
I have taken a lot of flack for stating that this
presidential election doesn't matter & there are much more important things
to be concerned with. So let's look at this from a logical, practical, &
Constitutional perspective:
Constitutional Fact: the President is NOT the leader of
America. He is only the leader of the military WHEN there is a formal
declaration of war. Without a formal declaration of war Congress holds all the
power over the military.
Constitutional Fact: the President cannot make
"deals" with foreign nations. His only power is to negotiate treaties
that are only ratified with the consent of 2/3 of the Senate.
Constitutional Fact: the President is not allowed to make
law, overturn law, or set aside law, that is a power reserved to Congress.
Constitutional Fact: the President can do nothing, can
fund nothing without the permission of Congress.
Constitutional Fact: the Congress is infinitely more
powerful than the President and has the actual and legal authority to do much
more, including limiting the President to the power delegated by the
Constitution.
Yet, here we are. Completely obsessed to the point of
blindness over a Presidential election. Even worse, the entire Presidential
election discussion has been limited, lately, to two candidates, Hillary
Clinton and Donald Trump. Just 2 people, 15 months away from the election and
that's all we can talk about?
Think about this: The President isn't the only office in
that election of November 2016. No. There are 469 seats in Congress also
involved in that election. Let me repeat. 469!!!! seats in Congress. Do you
realize what we could do, the changes that could be made, if we were actually
trying to make those changes where they REALLY count?? What could we do if we
started fighting for 469 seats???
In 15 months there are 65 weeks. That means if we were to
start talking about these Congressional seats we would have to cover at least 7
seats every week, never repeating, one seat everyday, for the next 15 months.
That is a monumental task! But THIS is what is important. This is where the
REAL power lies. This is where the REAL changes can be made.
Sigh. But all we can talk about is Donald Trump and
Hillary Clinton.
Once again I say, this Presidential election is
irrelevant. Changing out the occupant of the White House is NOT going to change
anything. But changing 469 seats in Congress to real Constitutionally minded
representatives...well, that could change the WORLD. And, perhaps, that is why
we must be consumed with presidential elections. That silly Pied Piper, he
